Introduction: Healthcare worker wellness has received increasing attention from medical educators and healthcare systems given its importance to provider longevity and patient care. Wellness is multidimensional, and very few instruments evaluate all domains of wellness. Our team developed a comprehensive measure to evaluate the multi-dimensional nature of wellness. Purpose: Simulation is increasingly used to supplement authentic clinical experiences in preparation for future healthcare students. However, the most realistic simulation experiences are frequently costly, time-intensive, and difficult to scale, especially for programs with budgetary restrictions. Purpose: Gender-identity diverse populations have unique healthcare needs, but they experience stigmatization leading to negative health outcomes. Healthcare professionals have reported obstacles to delivering affirming care to gender-identity diverse patients due to limited training. We assessed how health profession students encounter gender-identity content and how students’ perceived preparedness to provide care for gender-identity diverse populations. Simulation-based surgical training has the potential to significantly improve surgical outcomes in developing countries. However, its implementation faces numerous challenges, including financial constraints, infrastructural limitations, cultural barriers, and a lack of trained personnel. High costs, limited access to technology, and resistance to innovative teaching methods hinder the adoption of simulation-based surgical training. To overcome these obstacles, strategic approaches are needed, such as leveraging low-fidelity simulators, building strong partnerships, and investing in faculty development. By addressing these challenges, developing countries can harness the power of simulation-based surgical training to enhance surgical education and improve patient care.

Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) is a neurotropic human herpesvirus that typically presents as herpes zoster following reactivation of latent infection. Central nervous system involvement such as encephalitis is uncommon and is more frequently described in immunocompromised individuals. Increasing use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based diagnostics has enabled improved recognition of VZV-related neurological disease in immunocompetent hosts.

We describe a middle-aged immunocompetent female who presented with a 15-day history of persistent headache associated with vomiting and low-grade fever. Examination revealed vesicular eruptions in the T8–T9 dermatomes, while neurological examination and neuroimaging were normal. Localised scleroderma, also known as morphea, is an immune-mediated fibrosing disorder that primarily affects the skin and subcutaneous tissues. While traditionally considered purely a cutaneous disease, extracutaneous manifestations (especially inflammatory arthritis) are increasingly being appreciated. The combined presence of morphea and inflammatory arthritis is rare and can be difficult to diagnose, particularly when inflammatory markers and serological testing are non-contributory.
