Aim: This study aimed to compare digitally fabricated auricular prostheses to conventional prostheses, regarding adaptation to defect site in patients with auricular defects.

Subjects and methods: Fifteen patients were recruited for auricular prosthetic reconstruction. Endosseous implants were placed, then patients were assigned into two groups. In control group, ear models were processed on stone cast obtained from conventional impression. In intervention group, computed tomography and optical scanning were combined to obtain a virtual model with digital analogues over which ear models were designed and printed. Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common pregnancy-related metabolic disorder associated with adverse maternal and fetal outcomes. Recent research has highlighted the potential role of the oral microbiome in the pathophysiology of various systemic conditions, including diabetes mellitus. However, the impact of GDM on the maternal oral microbiome remains relatively understudied. Objectives: This study aims to address the significant discomfort and functional impairment associated with temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJ OA), which negatively impacts the quality of life. It emphasizes the importance of prompt diagnosis and explores the potential of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system to enhance TMJ OA diagnosis.

Methods: The prevalence of TMJ OA was evaluated using 3 diagnostic tools: the gold standard, the AI model, and an examiner. In total, 132 patients who performed 190 cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images were included.

Objectives: Comparative evaluation of surface changes and bond strength of Microabrasion Bleached enamel before and after Remineralization with Nano-hydroxyapatite paste, an In vitro study.

Methods: Enamel samples were divided into - Group I - Conventional bleaching (HB), Group II - Conventional bleaching with remineralization (HB+N-Hp), Group III - Microabrasion-assisted bleaching(M+HB), and Group IV - Microabrasion-assisted bleaching with remineralization(M+HB+NHp). Surface roughness was measured using a profilometer. Samples were stored in artificial saliva for two weeks, then bonded with nanofilled composite resin and subjected to shear bond strength (SBS) analysis.

Complex crown-root fractures are characterized by the involvement of both crown and root with pulp exposure. They pose aesthetic, functional, and psychological problems for the patient. Furthermore, they can pose technical difficulties for the practitioner. The purpose of this case report is to describe the management of a complex crown-root fracture of the right upper central incisor with subgingival limit by reattaching the tooth fragment with fiber-reinforced post. We considered a coronal elongation (gingivectomy and osteoplasty) to recreate the biological space and to expose the limit of the fracture line to guarantee the quality of the bond.

Methods: Cone beam computed tomography images of 50 patients (38 female, 12 male) with unilateral IMC were selected for this retrospective study. Background: Mandibular flexure during mouth opening affects prosthodontic outcomes, but digital scanner research is limited.

Methods: Seventy dental students (35 males, 35 females) had two impressions taken: one with maximum and one with minimum mouth opening.

Results: First molars showed higher deviations than premolars. Females had larger deviations, though not statistically significant.

Conclusion: First molars exhibit greater flexure than premolars.

The Michigan Board of Dentistry has introduced changes to the rules governing the delegation of duties to dental auxiliaries, including the reclassification of "dental assistants" (those not formally trained or licensed) as "unregistered dental auxiliaries" (UDAs). The classification Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) remains. Changes involve the supervision levels for specific tasks and guiding training UDAs for orthodontic duties. Notable changes include allowing UDAs to perform certain orthodontic tasks and expanding their scope of work to include duties such as taking impressions, polishing, and providing nutritional counseling. Objective: The study aimed to compare cavity volume data obtained with two different intraoral scanners. Methods: One hundred extracted molar teeth were divided into groups according to ICDAS-II classification, and scanned with Cerec Omnicam (Dentsply Sirona) and iTero Element Flex (Align Technology). The caries-infected tissues were removed regarding either minimally invasive or conventional cavity principles. Samples were scanned again and volumetric data were assessed by Meshmixer 3.5 (Autodesk) 3D modeling software. The terms sinus and fistula have been used interchangeably in clinical dentistry, but it may be inconsistent with past and current literature. The primary difference between the two is the number of anatomic spaces or openings involved. There is often confusion regarding the lining of a sinus tract and of a fistula. This article will review the clinical and histological features of a sinus and a fistula in both dentistry and medicine.
