Introduction: Human deciduous periodontal ligament stem cells represent as another source of stem cells from the dental origin. These cells were shown to have multi-potential attributes and also self renewing ability. Introduction: The Malaysian Dental Act 2018 has recently superseded the Dental Act 1971. Under this Act, dental therapists are required to register under the Therapist Division, are allowed to work at the private practice, and treat a person up to the age of 18 years old under direct supervision of dentist. Oral cancer is one of the major health concerns worldwide. The 5-year survival rate of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) has remained at approximately 50% over the past decades. Most OSCCs are diagnosed at an advanced stage due to the delay in diagnosis, suggesting an imperative need in identifying reliable biomarkers to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of OSCC.
