Fabrication Of Implant Supported Hybrid Denture Using Multi-Unit Abutments In A Patient With Generalised Aggressive Periodontitis, Anupama Aradya, Raghavendra Swamy K N, Chandan S N, Prashanth M B

International Journal of Health and Allied Sciences

This case report describes the prosthodontic rehabilitation of a geriatric patient with generalized aggressive periodontitis. The patient was advised to for full extraction. An implant supported hybrid prosthesis with multi-unit abutments was fabricated for the patient who chose a fixed kind of prosthesis. Implants were placed in the maxillary & mandibular arch. Frameworks were waxed, plastic castable abutments were used for casting, denture teeth were waxed to the hybrid framework and a final wax try-in to check and adjust the maxilla-mandibular relationships before processing, the prosthesis was placed. The clinical and radiologic results met expectations.

West Michigan’s Jim Reagan was born James Edward Reagan on October 22nd, 1957, and he grew up in Lowell, Michigan. Jim was the fourth of ten Reagan children born to Bob (Robert Reagan, DDS) and Carol Reagan. Carol Reagan was an RN from Marquette, but her time was filled by being a homemaker. Jim’s dad, Bob Reagan, practiced as a dentist in Lowell, MI from 1953 until 1993. In fact, Bob Reagan was recognized with the Silent Bell in 1993. Jim and Bob are the first multi-generational family members to share that honor.

Human teeth are unique since one population’s dental pattern might differ from another. Such specific dental characteristics, such as the incisor, are observable in each dentition. Objective: his study analyzed the population differences in Javanese and Chinese-Indonesian populations through observations of the incisal traits, namely winging, shoveling, and double shoveling. For several years Mission of Mercy (MOM) events were curtailed as the risks from COVID-19 outweighed the benefits of the free dental care provided by MOM. While COVID is still with us, the risks of delivering dental care in a large group setting were judged to be manageable by the Virginia Dental Association Foundation’s Board of Directors, and MOM project plans moved forward. Purpose: To determine the impact of a mandatory COVID-19 testing policy on visit no- show rates. Methods: We conducted a retrospective chart review at Bellevue Hospital’s Pediatric Dental Clinic, comparing no-show rates and dental work completed before and during this policy. Results: We assessed a total of 812 scheduled appointments. After the policy, we found no statistical difference between no-show rates, more quadrants of dental work completed per visit (P<0.001), and shorter interval times between appointments (P<0.001). Conclusion: The policy did not increase visit no-show rates. We also found more treatment completed in a shorter timeframe.

Proper craniofacial development requires many genes. Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) allows us to identify genes expressed in precursor cells for craniofacial structures, but the function of many of these genes in craniofacial development has yet to be characterized. In our scRNA-seq of cranial neural crest cells (NCCs), which are precursor cells for the craniofacial skeleton, we found a gene called early B-cell factor 3 (ebf3a) that may be involved in craniofacial development. The objective approach is fundamentally different from the standard subjective visual assessment that professionals in the dental field using the Basic Erosive Wear Evaluation (BEWE) method.

Twenty-nine hyposalivation and three control subjects were used in this longitudinal study, for a total of 597 samples (only 577 teeth were eligible for surface texture analysis) evaluated in a longitudinal study including both baseline and 12 month follow up surfaces. The purpose of this study was to determine whether enamel surface texture can be used as objective and quantitative measurements to detect and monitor erosive tooth wear (ETW) as an adjunct to the subjective Basic Erosive Wear Evaluation (BEWE) that is commonly used today. This longitudinal observational clinical study enrolled 32 subjects with a sample of n = 584 teeth.
