Introduction: This study examines communication methods used by patients and clinicians to overcome language barriers in dental settings, aiming to determine the most preferred and beneficial resource.

Methods: Surveys were distributed to a randomized sample of orthodontists in the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and Spanish-speaking limited English proficient (LEP) patients in Central Virginia. Questions assessed linguistic resources and their impact on visit perception, decision-making, doctor patient relationships, compliance, and satisfaction.

Results: Among 31 providers and 64 patients, bilingual staff members and friends/family members were the most utilized resources. However, both groups selected bilingual staff as the most preferred resource …

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the shear bond strength of the Symetri™ Clear brackets bonded initially to enamel versus after rebonding. An additional aim was to see how a generic debond pliers compares to the Symetri™ Debonding pliers in terms of shear bond strength and bracket morphology after debond. Rubber dam isolation is crucial in providing sterility and a controlled environment when performing root canal therapy. Rubber dam clamps have been controversial due to their rigidity and composition, which is thought to cause damage to zirconia full coverage crowns. This study evaluated three types of zirconia crowns anterior 5Y, premolar 4Y, and molar 3Y to assess their resistance to damage from rubber dam clamps. Of the 30 total zirconia crowns that were tested for damage following the usage of rubber dam clamps, no fractures or chips were observed. Introduction: The rubber dam has been a standard in endodontic practice for over 140 years, providing critical isolation to prevent microbial contamination during root canal therapy. However, studies indicate that microleakage between the rubber dam and tooth structure may still occur, potentially leading to bacterial infiltration. Various resin-based barriers have been introduced to enhance isolation and minimize leakage. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of four resin-based barriers in reducing microleakage during endodontic procedures. In 1891, G.V. Black presented the idea of “Extension for Prevention.” The concept was to complete a restoration so that the margins and occlusal grooves were treated in such a way as to “prevent” further carious involvement. Hopefully his technique prevented millions of teeth from needing retreatment. However, dealing with humans and sometimes their “lack” of proper oral hygiene habits, new carious lesions do appear on the same teeth in the same or different areas, This article examines the conflict occurring between insurance coverage and the patient when experiencing a new caries on a previously restored tooth.

Introduction: Warm vertical compaction of gutta-percha is a commonly used obturation technique due to the material’s thermoplastic properties. However, gutta-percha in backfill systems is often heated, cooled, and reheated multiple times before use, potentially altering its physical properties. This study investigated whether repeated heat cycling affects the sealing ability of gutta-percha, as measured by coronal dye leakage.
