The use of natural herbal extracts in the field of dentistry, and specifically in endodontology had gained a high popularity in the past few years. The main objective of endodontic treatment is to prevent and eliminate the infection from the root canal, seize the invasion of microorganisms to periradicular tissues and preserve the natural dentition. Studies had shown that some herbs are better alternatives to traditional chemical irrigants or medicaments used in root canal treatment, based on their potential antimicrobial effect, smear layer removal capabilities, tissue dissolution effect, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. Proper craniofacial development requires many genes. Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) allows us to identify genes expressed in precursor cells for craniofacial structures, but the function of many of these genes in craniofacial development has yet to be characterized. In our scRNA-seq of cranial neural crest cells (NCCs), which are precursor cells for the craniofacial skeleton, we found a gene called early B-cell factor 3 (ebf3a) that may be involved in craniofacial development. Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) biomarker studies rarely employ multi-omic biomarker strategies and pertinent clinicopathologic characteristics to predict mortality. In this study we determine for the first time a combined epigenetic, gene expression, and histology signature that differentiates between patients with different tobacco use history (heavy tobacco use with ≥10 pack years vs. no tobacco use). Aim: To evaluate the effect of CH and NCH on the viability, attachment, osteogenic, cementogenic and dentinogenic differentiation potential of hPDLSCs in-vitro.
Materials and Methods: Calcium Hydroxide (CH) and nano calcium hydroxide (NCH) powders were initially characterized using transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and a zeta sizer instrument. Standard dentin discs were prepared, irrigated according to the Regenerative Endodontic Procedures (REP) protocol, then treated with 1 mg/ml of CH or NCH pastes, and incubated for 1 week. Objective: This study aims to assess the impact of bioceramic and resin based sealers on postendodontic pain after endodontic treatment performed in single visit. Methods: In this study, forty patients in need of endodontic therapy were chosen. single visit endodontic treatment was done for the patients but obturated using two different types of sealers: in Group 1: AH Plus sealer was used and in Group 2: EndoSequence BC sealer Hiflow was used. Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a destructive process that may involve both hard and soft tissues. While rare, it has a predilection for the oral and maxillofacial region. LCH occurs across the age range, yet is often diagnosed in the pediatric population. The dentigerous cyst (DC) is the most common developmental odontogenic cyst. It typically presents in young adult patients as a solitary lesion associated with impacted third molars. Here we present a case of LCH occurring in the wall of a DC in a 12-year-old male.
