The pyogenic granuloma is a benign vascular proliferation which may present either on the skin or intraorally. While the majority of oral pyogenic granulomas remain less than 1 cm in size, they can grow to large sizes if care is neglected. Herein, we report case of a large pyogenic granuloma on the mandibular alveolar ridge gingiva which grew to 10x10cm in size due to failure to seek treatment.

INTRODUCTION: Dental care is a critical component of healthy aging; however, emerging evidence suggests that having been previously incarcerated is a risk factor for not using dental care services. This study investigates the relationship between prior incarceration and dental care among older adults and assesses whether wealth and dental insurance explain this relationship.

METHODS: Data are from the Health and Retirement Study, a nationally representative sample of community-dwelling older adults in the United States, collected in 2012 and 2014. INTRODUCTION: Mutations in genes related to cholesterol metabolism, or maternal diet and health status, affect craniofacial bone formation. However, the precise role of intracellular cholesterol metabolism in craniofacial bone development remains unclear.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to determine how cholesterol metabolism aberrations affect craniofacial bone development.

METHODS: Mice with a deficiency in Sc5d, which encodes an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis, were analyzed with histology, micro computed tomography (microCT), and cellular and molecular biological methods.

Objective: The aims of this study were to assess the accuracy of Cameriere’s and Demirjian’s methods in Finnish children, and compare the findings with those of the Turkish children according to dental age.

Material and methods: Dental panoramic tomography (DPT) of children (482 Finnish, 423 Turkish) aged between 5 and 15 years were evaluated. Comparison of mean difference between estimated and chronological age was evaluated. The difference between two means was analysed using paired t-test at 95% confidence interval (CI). Pearson correlation coefficients were used to estimate the correlation between chronological and estimated ages.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common and potentially serious sleep disorder characterized by repetitive episodes of complete or partial upper airway obstruction during sleep. These obstructions result in a reduction or cessation of airflow, leading to oxygen desaturation, and disruptions in sleep patterns.1,2 Common symptoms of OSA include loud snoring, gasping or choking during sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness, morning headaches, and irritability. Obstructive sleep apnea is often associated with other medical conditions, such as obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Diagnosis typically involves polysomnography to assess the frequency and severity of apneic episodes.

This study investigates the relationship between periodontal disease and vitamin D deficiency by correlating clinical periodontal parameters with serum levels of vitamin D; (2) Methods: Data from the literature and the periodontal status of two patients diagnosed with both periodontal disease and vitamin D deficiency were evaluated. Clinical parameters were measured, including plaque index, bleeding on probing, and bone resorption (%). Serum levels of vitamin D were also analyzed. In this study, the biological effect of MTA Repair HP (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate Repair High Plasticity) and Biodentine have been tested on a stabilized fibroblast cell line NCTC clone 929. Materials and Methods. We assessed quantitative and qualitative parameters related to cytotoxic effect of the investigated products. The experimental period was 96 hours. Statistical analysis was performed with Kruskal-Wallis and Wilcoxon tests. Results. The Phase 3 randomized controlled trial, TBTC Study 31/ACTG A5349 (NCT02410772) demonstrated that a 4-month rifapentine-moxifloxacin regimen for drug-susceptible pulmonary tuberculosis was safe and effective. The primary efficacy outcome was 12-month tuberculosis disease free survival, while the primary safety outcome was the proportion of grade 3 or higher adverse events during the treatment period. We conducted an analysis of demographic, clinical, microbiologic, radiographic, and pharmacokinetic data and identified risk factors for unfavorable outcomes and adverse events. Among participants receiving the rifapentine-moxifloxacin regimen, low rifapentine exposure is the strongest driver of tuberculosis-related unfavorable outcomes (HR 0.65 for every 100 µg∙h/mL increase, …

MATERIALS AND METHODS: An edentulous maxillary model with four implants at canine and first molar regions bilaterally was digitized (ATOS Core 80 5MP) to design a reference implant-supported complete arch prosthesis standard tessellation language file (RF-STL). This case report describes the prosthodontic rehabilitation of a geriatric patient with generalized aggressive periodontitis. The patient was advised to for full extraction. An implant supported hybrid prosthesis with multi-unit abutments was fabricated for the patient who chose a fixed kind of prosthesis. Implants were placed in the maxillary & mandibular arch. Frameworks were waxed, plastic castable abutments were used for casting, denture teeth were waxed to the hybrid framework and a final wax try-in to check and adjust the maxilla-mandibular relationships before processing, the prosthesis was placed. The clinical and radiologic results met expectations.
