This article explores dilemmas encountered when integrating intercultural perspectives of underrepresented groups into predominantly white mass communication classrooms . Through reflexive narrative it analyzes student discourse that exposes ethnocentrism stereotype reliance affirmative action resentment and challenges of tokenism. Drawing on demographic projections intercultural communication theory and critical pedagogy the discussion argues that effective diversity leadership requires faculty cultural competence dialogic curriculum design and sustained institutional support beyond isolated workshops. This article investigates how curricular specialization and experiential learning shape the initial career trajectories of communication graduates. Drawing on survey data spanning television, radio, public relations, organizational communication speech communication, and journalism subfields, it analyzes linkages among academic specialty internship participation gender and rationales for accepting first professional positions. Chi square and variance analyses reveal that television radio and public relations majors are most likely to secure positions aligned with their coursework whereas speech specialists disperse widely across the labor market. This article interrogates communication dynamics within doctoral dissertation supervision in speech communication, examining how advisor advisee relationships shape degree completion and satisfaction. Survey data from diverse programs are analyzed to map expectations, roles, feedback routines, and perceptions of power, revealing marked contrasts between students and faculty regarding turnaround time, autonomy, and mentoring style. This article investigates the ABD phenomenon among communication studies graduates who accept full time teaching positions before completing the dissertation. Telephone interviews with faculty reveal that teaching workload, particularly high course loads and extracurricular obligations, dwarfs time management and physical distance as barriers, while psychological distance from the degree granting institution and committee turnover further slow doctoral persistence. Participants who secured approved research proposals and supportive mentoring relationships, or moved to positions with lighter demands, reported greater momentum toward completion. The goal of this project was to determine if the eight local school districts in Clark and Edgar counties could provide special education services as effectively as the Eastern Illinois Special Education Cooperative. The study answered this question and provided the districts involved with sufficient data and analysis to recommend to their individual Boards of Education the way in which they would offer these services in the future. This field experience examines how 21 selected Illinois unit district high schools have maintained their elective/vocational enrollments with the 1985 increase in college admission requirements. The 21 high schools identified had a student population between 700 and 1000. A questionnaire was sent to each school requesting information regarding their master schedule. Questions specifically requested data on number of class periods, length of class periods, number of graduation units, faculty teaching load, class maximums and minimums, and percent of college-bound students in respective schools. This descriptive study with exclusive focus on identified secondary special education programs in Iowa, investigated the interactions of administrators, general classroom and special education teachers to determine common administrative and instructional practices and behaviors within three characteristics -- Facilities Leadership, General Classroom Teaching Behavior, and Special Education Teaching Behavior. Directors of Special Education from six Iowa Area Education Agencies (AEAs) were asked to select five schools form their respective AEAs with exemplary secondary special education programs. From that initial population of 30 schools, 11 schools were selected to participate in this study.

Equality of opportunity has been the most important organising principle in education policies in postwar Australia. Equality of opportunity was central to the expansion of publicly-funded education: the promise of upward social mobility through education had broad appeal. Equality of opportunity objectives are now being displaced by the newer and more limited concept of market equity. Equality of opportunity usually implies equality of the educational resources provided to each child, and sometimes goes further to mean positive discrimination in favour of the disadvantaged. In 1987, the Ministry of Education released a report entitled 'Better Schools in Western Australia: A Program for Improvement'.l It outlined radical proposals to make schools more self-determining and accountable. The study examined the creation of an organizational culture at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. The study focused on the concept of change and the effects of change on the organization and the organizational participants since the creation of the Academy in 1985. Changes in the structure and management of the Academy provided the basis for participant response.
