Distance education provides access through multiple technologies and oftentimes includes some on-site instruction (Dunn, 2000; LaCost, 1998). Attitudes Of University Faculty Members Toward Students With Disabilities, Marie F. Kraska
International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA) Conference
American colleges and universities are experiencing a continuous enrollment of students with disabilities, especially students with learning disabilities. The Americans with Disabilities Act mandates that institutions of higher education provide full accommodations and services to all students. This study was conducted to ascertain the attitudes of university faculty members toward serving students with disabilities. Seventy-one faculty members representing three broad academic areas in a university in the Southeastern Region of the United States participated in this study. Results of the data analysis revealed statistically significant differences existed between faculty members when they were grouped by academic rank and academic unit.

Originally, assessment in higher education meant assessing students. The broader appeal of the concept quickly claimed the attention of a multitude of constituents within the academy, each with a different goal in mind – from program review to public relations. A Comparative Analysis Of Japanese And U.S. Teaching Styles Of Mathematics, Timothy Michael Wurdock
Mathematics Graduate Theses
This study examines the effects of different international teaching styles on the performance of junior high school students. Japanese students ranked higher than U.S. students on international tests. The whole-class method and open-ended problems are techniques frequently used in Japanese classrooms. These techniques will be incorporated into the author’s curriculum to determine their effectiveness in teaching mathematics. Two eighth grade classes will be studied. The author will teach the experimental group using the whole-class method. The control group will be taught using the American method.
