Huck’s Landing, Inc. was a venture of Tom Carter Enterprises to develop a major family-oriented recreation complex in Las Vegas, Nevada, for which the company was under negotiations for an 80-acre site at a prime Las Vegas Stripe location. As envisioned, the project was to include: a 1000 room hotel with casino, a themed retail center, 60 lane bowling alley, a special use theater facility, a large games arcade, two miniature golf courses, a “Showboat” restaurant, roller skating rink, and a 20-25 acre $50 million water-oriented recreation facility to be known as Huck’s Landing, themed around Mark Twain’s 1860s America. …

Few areas depend, as Florida does, on the expenditures of tourists for economic growth and vitality. To the extent that the number of visitors to Florida can be accurately predicted, the state's visitor industry should, among other things, be able to more effectively gauge seasonal and long-term employment needs, program advertising and promotional expenditures, establish policies for the purchasing of supplies, plan capital outlays for new facilities and expansion, manage inventories, and project tax revenues from tourism activities. In short, timely and reliable tourist projections should allow the state's visitor industry to more effectively and profitably serve those who visit …

In March 1980, Snow Summit Ski Corporation purchased 5.91 acres of land in the City of Big Bear Lake, California. The Harrison Price Company (HPC) was retained to provide an evaluation of the best use of the property within the context of zoning and other potential government restrictions, with the objective of establishing a strategy for dealing with the property and its market value. Snow Summit Ski Corporation was open to selling or developing the property, depending upon the factors of risk, return and long-term stability of the development options. Mr. Steven Bonnett, Vice President, Trust Division of Pittsburgh National Bank served as executor of the estate of the late Henry Oliver, Jr. Mr. Bonnett retained Vern Englehorn and Frank Kemp of Denver to appraise the fair market value of two assets owned by Mr. Oliver, the Poodle Ranch and the Four Lazy F Ranch in Teton County, Wyoming. Mr. Bonnett subsequently retained the Harrison Price Company to critique the Englehorn/Kemp appraisal and the subsequent IRS appraisal based on that report, with particular reference to establishing the cash equivalent value associated with the comparable sales cited in the Englehorn/Kemp appraisal. …
