Interview With George Guscott, Abha Pandya
Trotter Review
George Guscott was born in 1927 in Boston. An engineer with a degree from Northeastern University, he worked in an engineering firm for many years before branching off, very successfully, into real estate development. His firm, Long Bay Management Company, which he manages with his two brothers, is one of the largest minority-owned real estate companies in the city of Boston, In a ride in his van through Roxbury and Dorchester, Guscott proudly pointed to all the real estate he owns and spoke reflectively about the struggles and victories he encountered over the years to get to where he is …

A Real Estate Appraisal Manual: Step-By-Step Procedure, Kenneth William Voss Ii
A Real Estate Appraisal Manual: Step-By-Step Procedure, Kenneth William Voss Ii
Theses
This manual provides a practical, step-by-step guide to the real estate appraisal process, written with clarity and accessibility for students, beginning appraisers, and practitioners seeking a structured reference. Organized around the three traditional approaches to value—cost, market comparison, and income—the text emphasizes not only the theoretical foundations of valuation but also the application of methods through worked examples, sample forms, and procedural outlines.
The manual begins with an introduction to the role of the appraiser, the purpose of appraisals, and the ethical responsibilities tied to valuation work. It then outlines the stages of a complete appraisal report, from defining the …

Influences On Early Twentieth Century Bungalow Housing In Lincoln, Nebraska, Madeleine F. Panarelli
Influences On Early Twentieth Century Bungalow Housing In Lincoln, Nebraska, Madeleine F. Panarelli
Open Access Master's Theses (through 2010)
Housing publications of the Bungalow era (1900 to 1930) containing over 1200 illustrated Bungalows and derivations, were compared with 717 photographed representatives in Lincoln, Nebraska. These samples were categorized by 10 types first described by writer Henry Saylor (1911). Interpretations of the style by local builders and architects in Lincoln, Nebraska, were traced to house pattern books, national and local publications, and state and city records, to determine how the style evolved locally. The search led to regional design features of the Bungalow, nearly square forms, and composite types.

Occasionally, someone will attempt to correlate some new, here-to-fore unrelated, factor to real estate values. The new factors are often utilized alone or in conjunction with previous study.
An Application Of The Income Elasticity Concept To The Demand For Housing, Loyce Bagwell
An Application Of The Income Elasticity Concept To The Demand For Housing, Loyce Bagwell
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
Many studies approach the housing-income relationship by calculating the income elasticity of demand for housing. This study employs this approach in order to (1) test the implications of the permanent income hypothesis by using data which provide both biased and unbiased elasticity coefficients and (2) test the effects which the explanatory variable, family composition, may have on the elasticity coefficients.
The methodology involves regressing the log of housing expenditure on the log of disposable income for seven different family compositions in order to obtain the income elasticity coefficients. This approach is applied to data (cross section 1960-61 BLS consumer surveys) …

Restitution - Fraud - Prospective Vendee's Rights Against Broker, Stephen C. Bransdorfer S.Ed.
Michigan Law Review
Defendant was retained as a real estate agent by the vendor. He listed the vendor's eighty acres and buildings for sale. Plaintiff, a prospective purchaser, offered $7,000 for the property. Defendant failed to transmit this offer to the vendor and, instead, fraudulently caused the vendor to convey to two strawmen, as purported purchasers, for $6,500. After the defendant had falsely told the plaintiff that the latter's offer for the whole tract had been rejected, plaintiff purchased seventeen acres, including the buildings, for $6,000, an admittedly fair price. The strawmen conveyed the remaining sixty-three acres to the defendant's son, defendant giving …
