The Evaluation Of Social Costs And Benefits, W. David Conn
The Evaluation Of Social Costs And Benefits, W. David Conn
City and Regional Planning
Some members of the industrial marketing profession may not realize that their efforts in creating new markets and facilitating communication between producers and consumers are grist to the mill of economic theory. One example is that observed market prices are very often taken as measures of social value in benefit/cost analyses which purport to balance economic and social benefits against economic and social disbenefits. Furthermore benefit/cost analysis is often used when a decision is to be made on internalization of social cost within an enterprise. For example, should a manufacturer be asked to pay for the cost of pollution to …

A Study Of The Prevalent Categories Of Conflict As Perceived By The Architect And The School Client On School Construction Projects In Indiana, Tracy Dust
All-Inclusive List of Electronic Theses and Dissertations
In view of the complexities which are now involved in school facility construction, it is paramount that the relationship between the architect and his school client develop fully and that it be based upon a clear and mutual understanding of role expectation. The school board, as the hiring agency, is characteristically composed of laymen both in the field of education and in the field of heavy construction. They must rely upon the judgment of the architect regarding the design features of the proposed facility and must depend upon their superintendent and his staff for determining educational program requirements.

A Historical Description Of The Areal Distribution Of The Churches Of Warren County, Kentucky, Neilam Adams
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
Religion is a part of man and his culture. We cannot understand the totality of man if we do not understand his religion. The church structure is the visible expression of man's religion.
The purpose of this study is to describe the distribution of churches in Warren County, Kentucky, and to examine the factors that contribute to this areal pattern. In an attempt to further clarify this human-religious expression the following points will be considered: (1) the reasons for denominational change through time; (2) the association of church location and population with corresponding rural -urban shifts; and (3) the style …

Mutual Aid Housing For San Juan, Philip Lawrence Manson Goldberg
Mutual Aid Housing For San Juan, Philip Lawrence Manson Goldberg
Architecture Master Theses
A policy program for mutual aid construction is presented. In this approach, rural families organize teams to build their dwellings and buy construction materials through new savings organizations. The chief prerequisite for mutual aid in a specific situation is that the ratio of material to labor costs be high.
Pride in home ownership, training in construction skills, and natural evolved neighborhoods prove the thesis that mutual aid is the most promising solution for housing the poor in developing societies. Financial burden on the public is minimized, and the government can control municipal expansion by retaining land ownership.
In high density …
