Many countries propose indoor temperature set-points of air-conditioned offices to be comfortably sustainable and to reduce energy consumption. Even though there are recommendations for the optimum temperature-set-points, it is questionable how those values could be applied to the actual situation in a tropical region. This study aims to survey thermal performance and estimate thermal comfort in different set-points. In 2019, two air-conditioned office buildings were tested by increasing set-points from the actual value between 23 °C and 25 °C. This paper aims to examine a prospect of disaster education and community development in Thailand focusing on a traditional waterfront community, named Hua Takhe. It explores the program and participation as well as meaning and implication of the Japanese cases through observations. Based on the analysis of questionnaire surveys, the strengths of the Hua Takhe community include solidarity, human, cultural, and educational resources. Its weaknesses are a limitation of disaster prevention-related resources, insufficient interaction between the old and the young generations, a lack of systematic disaster management, and low participation in drills. The objective of this study is to develop guidelines for thermal comfort and energy efficiency for senior centers during winter. The study was conducted in Phitsanulok, Thailand and it three methods were applied in development of the guidelines: field survey, laboratory study, and simulation in scSTREAM - a CFD program -- and Visual DOE 4.0 program. With a temperature set-point of 25.0 °C in the existing air-conditioned senior centers, the study shows that occupants feel "Slightly cool". The standing seam roof (SSR) system is the most commonly used roof system for metal buildings due to its superior durability, water tightness, and energy efficiency. In this type of system, SSR panels attach to Z-shaped or C-shaped purlins with clips, and the purlins are in turn connected to rafters (i.e. roof beams). For the design of metal building rafters against lateral torsional buckling, bottom flange braces provide torsional bracing to the rafter and the SSR system provides some lateral bracing. งานวิจัยฉบับนี้ มุ่งเน้นศึกษาหลักการสากลรวมถึงกรณีศึกษาในต่างประเทศ เพื่อหาแนวทางการออกแบบภูมิทัศน์อาคารสำหรับพื้นที่สถานีขนส่งมวลชนทางราง ที่ส่งเสริมระดับค่าศักยภาพการมองเห็นและเข้าถึงให้เหมาะสมต่อการรักษานัยยะความสถานที่ ที่ประกอบด้วย 1) การเป็นพื้นที่สาธารณะที่อเนกประโยชน์ และ 2) การเป็นพื้นที่ที่เอื้อต่อการรับรู้เชิงทัศน์ต่อภูมิทัศน์อาคารในประเด็นเรื่องความปลอดภัยและอัตลักษณ์ของพื้นที่เป็นหลัก อันสามารถรักษาหน้าที่ “ความเป็นสถานที่ของเมือง” ให้สมดุลกับ “ความเป็นจุดเชื่อมต่อเครือข่ายระบบสัญจร” ของพื้นที่รอบสถานีขนส่งมวลชนทางราง ซึ่งเป็นคุณสมบัติของพื้นที่สถานีที่ดี โดยเลือกพื้นที่ย่านพาณิชยกรรมศูนย์กลางเมืองกรุงเทพมหานคร เป็นพื้นที่ศึกษาและวัดผลด้วยเครื่องมือการศึกษาสัณฐานวิทยาเมือง ที่สามารถแสดงผลบนแผนที่จริงตามระดับค่าวรรณะสีรุ้ง จากการศึกษาพบว่าปัญหาสำคัญ คือข้อกฎหมายที่ยังขาดการคำนึงถึงความแตกต่างเฉพาะตัวในบริบทของแต่ละพื้นที่ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในพื้นที่สถานีขนส่งมวลชนทางราง ที่มีตัวแปรทางกายภาพที่ชัดเจนและมีผลกระทบโดยตรง คือ โครงสร้างยกระดับ ดังนั้น ภายใต้เงื่อนไขที่ไม่สามารถเปลี่ยนแปลงโครงสร้างยกระดับดังกล่าวได้ แต่หากสามารถเพิ่มเติมข้อกฎหมายที่เกี่ยวข้องผ่านการมีแนวทางการออกแบบภูมิทัศน์อาคารสำหรับพื้นที่รอบสถานีขนส่งมวลชนทางราง โดยผู้วิจัยได้สรุปแนวทางการออกแบบเพื่อเสนอแนะ ดังนี้ 1) ระยะ สัดส่วน กำหนดสัดส่วนความสูงฐานอาคารต่อระยะแนวราบให้สอดคล้องกับมุมมองของผู้คนในทุกระดับชั้น, 2) การใช้ประโยชน์พื้นที่ กำหนดให้ความเป็นสาธารณะสามารถแทรกซึมเข้าไปในพื้นที่และอาคารโดยรอบ, 3) รูปแบบและองค์ประกอบทางสถาปัตยกรรม กำหนดให้ทุกฐานอาคารต้องให้ความสำคัญกับองค์ประกอบทางสถาปัตยกรรมบนรูปด้านหน้าอาคารที่แสดงถึงความปลอดภัยและอัตลักษณ์ของพื้นที่เป็นหลัก รวมทั้งเพิ่มเติมการกำหนดรูปแบบของส่วนเชื่อมต่อให้มีลักษณะที่โปร่ง ไม่ทึบตัน อีกทั้งกำหนดให้บริเวณอาคารและแนวรั้วที่ตั้งอยู่หัวมุมถนน ต้องปาดมุมให้มีขนาดที่เหมาะสม เพื่อส่งเสริมการเป็นจุดเชื่อมต่อมุมมองและและการเข้าถึงจากพื้นที่รอบสถานีสู่พื้นที่ที่ลึกเข้าไป

พื้นที่เมืองเก่าเป็นสถานที่ที่แสดงถึงอัตลักษณ์ที่สืบต่อกันมาอย่างยาวนานของประเทศไทยโดยเฉพาะงานสถาปัตยกรรม ที่ปัจจุบันเกิดความทรุดโทรมไปตามกาลเวลา การปรับปรุงสีอาคารเป็นวิธีการหนึ่งที่ทำได้ง่ายและใช้งบประมาณน้อยกว่าวิธีอื่น ซึ่งการเลือกใช้สีและวัสดุให้มีความเหมาะสมนั้นเป็นสิ่งสำคัญ งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและรวบรวมชุดสีองค์ประกอบทางสถาปัตยกรรมของอาคารพาณิชย์ที่แสดงถึงอัตลักษณ์และลักษณะความกลมกลืนทางด้านสีของพื้นที่เมืองเก่าสงขลา โดยเก็บข้อมูลด้วยระบบดิจิตอลจากภาพถ่ายอาคารผ่านโปรแกรม Adobe Photoshop CS6 เพื่อหาค่าความถี่ของสีจากอาคารจำนวน 523 หลัง บนถนนหลักทั้ง 3 เส้นของเมืองเก่าสงขลา ผลแสดงให้เห็นว่าสีเทา สีขาวและสีน้ำตาล เป็นสีที่มีการใช้ในองค์ประกอบอาคารมากที่สุด โดยเมื่อนำมาวิเคราะห์ร่วมกับสถานที่สำคัญในพื้นที่ทำให้ทราบถึงชุดสีที่แสดงถึงอัตลักษณ์ ได้แก่ สีขาว สีเทาอ่อนที่มีการเจือด้วยสีฟ้า สีเทากลางและสีแดง นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าค่าความสดของสีอาคารส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในช่วงร้อยละ 0-20 มีค่าความสว่างของสีอยู่ในช่วงกว้างตั้งแต่ร้อยละ 21-100 และชุดสีที่มีการใช้มากที่สุดคือการใช้สีเดียว (Monochrome) การใช้สีคู่ตรงข้าม (Complementary) และการใช้สีที่อยู่ใกล้เคียงกัน (Analogous) ตามลำดับ งานวิจัยนี้ได้ผนวกทิศทางของแสงและตำแหน่งอาคารมาใช้ร่วมกับการเก็บค่าสีอาคาร โดยช่วยให้ได้ค่าสีที่มีความใกล้เคียงกับสีอาคารในภาพถ่ายมากขึ้น และยังเป็นแนวทางในการเลือกใช้สีให้กับเจ้าของอาคารและหน่วยงานที่ต้องการส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์ในพื้นที่ ในท้ายที่สุดงานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ได้เสนอให้มีการเก็บค่าสีจากมุมสูงของพื้นที่ และการวิเคราะห์ค่าสีและค่าความสดของสี ร่วมกับทิศทางของแสงและตำแหน่งอาคารอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

These uncertainties put projects at risk of being unable to fulfill annual debt repayment obligations. When a project generates insufficient cash flow to service the debt in a certain year, it normally has to go for short-term financing by borrowing short-term loans. English translation of two articles published in the newspaper Le Temps by Adolphe Brisson in April and May 1900. They are dedicated to the twelve "geishas" brought from Japan to perform at the Panorama du Tour du monde, the "sisters" of Pierre Loti's “Madame Chrysanthemum” (the model for Puccini's Madama Butterfly). Brisson's interviews with a number of figures important for Japonisme (Hayashi and Bigot, in particular) provide insights into Franco-Japanese relations in 1900 and to the living and working conditions of foreign performers at the Paris Exposition.

This paper presents the outcome of a study of two-span glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) I-section beams susceptible to lateral-torsional buckling when subjected to gradually increasing concentrated vertical load(s) in the presence of two different types of lateral bracing schemes. It is found that loading one span results in a smaller buckling load as compared with the cases with loading in both spans regardless of the type of bracing scheme used. Also, the study shows that the addition of midspan braces for the GFRP beams results in up to 5.5 times increase in the buckling load capacity.

งานวิจัยฉบับนี้จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อศึกษาสภาพที่พักอาศัยของนิสิตจุฬาฯที่อยู่หอพักโดยรอบจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย รวมถึงลักษณะเศรษฐกิจ สังคม ภูมิลำเนา ไปจนถึงปัจจัยในการตัดสินใจเช่าหอพักและอพาร์ทเม้นท์ของนิสิตจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อนำเสนอแนวทางการจัดการที่พักอาศัยให้เหมาะสมกับความต้องการของนิสิตจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย จากผลการศึกษาพบว่า นิสิตส่วนใหญ่มีภูมิลำเนามาจากต่างจังหวัด ซึ่งส่วนมากมีความต้องการเช่าหอพักภายในมหาวิทยาลัย แต่ปริมาณหอพักไม่เพียงพอต่อความต้องการของนิสิต จึงจำเป็นต้องอยู่หอพักโดยรอบมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อความสะดวกในการเดินทาง อีกทั้งนิสิตยังต้องคำนึงถึงปัจจัยด้านอื่นๆ เช่น ราคา ความปลอดภัย และสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกของที่พักอาศัย เป็นต้น โดยหอพักที่นิสิตเลือกพักอาศัยมักอยู่ในบริเวณมหาวิทยาลัยที่อยู่ในเขตปทุมวัน เขตราชเทวีและเขตบางรัก เป็นต้น ซึ่งราคาที่นิสิตเลือกเช่าพักอาศัยที่มีลักษณะเป็นห้องสตูดิโอที่มีห้องน้ำภายในและมีระเบียง ขนาดห้อง 21-30 ตารางเมตร จะอยู่ในช่วงราคา 7,000-10,000 บาท ราคาจะขึ้นอยู่กับปัจจัยหลายอย่าง เช่น สิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกภายในห้องพัก ขนาดห้องพักและทำเลของหอพัก เป็นต้น ด้วยรายได้ครัวเรือนของนิสิตส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในช่วง 50,000-100,000 บาทต่อเดือน ซึ่งทำให้มีผลต่อ รายได้ต่อเดือนของนิสิตที่ได้รับ น้อยกว่า 10,000-20,000 บาทต่อเดือน จึงทำให้นิสิตจำเป็นต้องมีผู้ร่วมพักอาศัยที่เป็นเพื่อน เพื่อหารเฉลี่ยค่าใช้จ่ายของราคาห้องพัก ค่าน้ำ และค่าไฟ เพราะห้องพักมีราคาสูงพอสมควร จากการศึกษาได้ข้อสรุปว่า นิสิตต้องการอยู่หอพักในบริเวณมหาวิทยาลัย มีราคาถูก พร้อมสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกครบครัน และพื้นที่ส่วนกลางภายในพอพัก เช่น ห้องทำงาน,ห้องออกกำลังกาย,ห้องทำอาหารและห้องบอร์ดเกมส์ เป็นต้น รวมทั้งภายในห้องพักมีความเป็นส่วนตัว มีเฟอร์นิเจอร์เพียงพอสำหรับนิสิต เช่น โต๊ะทำงาน,ตู้เสื้อผ้าและตู้เก็บของ เป็นต้น จึงทำให้ผู้วิจัยสามารถออกแบบห้องพักให้ตรงตามความต้องการของนิสตจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย

A numerical study of the influence of structural bracing on the buckling strength of pultruded Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) frames is presented. Although the influence of bracing on frames made from other materials such as steel have been studied in the past, this paper investigates the performance of pultruded GFRP portal frames with pinned or fixed column bases. Each frame is constructed with pultruded GFRP I-section members. The influence of I-section column major and minor axis orientation is also investigated. Colonizers settled the Los Angeles and the Southern California region in part by using Modernism’s visual rhetoric and propagandic implications during the time of suburban sprawl. Suburban sprawl refers to the mass single family home development which took place from the 1920^[1]s until now but peaked from the 1970s to the 1990s. Los Angeles sprawl grew particularly in the 1950^[2]s as soldiers returned from WWII. Bayview Hunters Point is at the epicenter of environmental justice issues in San Francisco. The district has historically been the location of the city’s most polluting industries, as well as some of its poorest residents and its greatest concentration of public housing. As the city’s zoning developed over the twentieth century, the southeastern neighborhood on the bay became a patchwork of industrial and residential parcels of land, fueling spatial injustice, in particular a lack of access to public open space.
