Director and choreographer Bill T. Jones – whose major honors include a MacArthur “Genius” Award, the Kennedy Center Honors and two Tony Awards for Best Choreography – returns to the stage in a spellbinding new work. Story/Time finds Jones engaging in the beloved form of storytelling, offering glancing takes on ideas, feelings and impressions from his life. Graduate Student Projects

This project entailed the selection, background research and documentation, musical analysis, casting, direction, staging, and post-production analysis of Savannah Country Day School's production of Fiddler on the Roof written by Joseph Stein, Sheldon Harnick and Herry Bock. Documentation included research and analysis of the play, its dramatic actions in historic placement as well as thematic ideas the keep the piece relevant to today's youth.

This project entailed the selection, background research and documentation, musical analysis, casting, direction, and post-production analysis of Montessori School of Anderson and New Covenant School's production of Mary Nickles' Les Miserables School Edition by Alain Boubilil and Claude-Michel Schönberg. Documentation included research and analysis of the play and an evaluation of the play as a production vehicle for the Department of Theatre Arts at Central Washington University.

THe analysis also includes a discussion as the non-tradiation directorial vision of this production .

Historians of musical theatre have been ambivalent when assessing the historical significance of Gilbert and Sullivan upon the development of the American musical. Historical narratives typically jump from The Black Crook to Friml, with only passing reference to G&S (and Offenbach, and Strauss). Gilbert and Sullivan (encouraged by D’Oyly Carte), however, anticipated not only most of the formal elements, but also many of the creative/production processes of the American musical genre. The shows that we associate with the “Golden Era” of the American musical theatre contain many components that G&S devised three score years earlier. Historians should acknowledge the importance …

Kickin' Sand and Tellin' Lies: The Play

This document is the script of the two-act play, Kickin’ Sand and Tellin’ Lies, by Jackson B. Miller and Christopher Forrer. The Linfield College Theatre Program presented the world premieres of the play in November 2012 in McMinnville, Oregon and in Pacific City, Oregon. The play was created as part of the Launching through the Surf: The Dory Fleet of Pacific City project, which focuses on the historical and contemporary role of dory fishers and dories in the life of the coastal village of Pacific City, Oregon.
