Traces, the South Central Kentucky Genealogical Society's quarterly newsletter, was first published in 1973. The Society changed its name in 2016 to the Barren County Historical Society. The publication features compiled genealogies, articles on local history, single-family studies and unpublished source materials related to this area.

The Kentucky Humanities Council is an independent, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities committed to providing programs and services that facilitate an understanding and appreciation of Kentucky’s cultural heritage and future. The Council’s program catalog features scholars from across the Commonwealth who make presentations on a myriad of humanities topics. Later, costumed actors, who delivered dramatic monologues about Kentucky’s famous, infamous, and composite personalities, were added. What role does feminist theory play in American folkloristics, and which versions of feminism have become mainstreamed in the nearly forty years since folklorists first became attuned to the promises and premises of feminism? By attending to these issues, I hope to at least partially answer the question Alan Dundes asked in his 2004 Invited Presidential Plenary Address to the American Folklore Society: "What precisely is the 'theory' in feminist theory?" This collection consists of materials collected by Walter and Carol Stein, two individuals interested in the history of the Cabell County, West Virginia area. The collection contains two diaries by William Dusenberry, three books, copies, transcriptions, and indexes of the two diaries, and collected research on the Dugan family and the Fannie Dugan steamboat. The 1861-1862 diary has a store ledger from July 9, 1861 to August 26, 1862 and a diary from September 23 to November 11, 1862, while the 1873 diary covers the whole year.
