Originally compiled by John Rudy as a student project in 2007 at Gettysburg College, this new, revised edition of the Civil War Walking Tour booklet guides a visitor on a truly unique campus tour. Visitors can walk among buildings from the war era and learn how they were pressed into service during and after the Battle of Gettysburg. Likewise, many college figures such as President Henry Baugher, John "Jack" Hopkins (janitor), and many students are part of this complex and heroic story of Pennsylvania College's story in July 1863.

The Nazi Werwolf movement is an often overlooked and forgotten subject during historical examinations of the end of the Second World War, due in large part to the fact that it never fully developed or reached the scale envisioned by its creators. Originally devised to conduct commando-style partisan operations behind Allied lines, the organization's failure can be attributed to a number of factors, both German and American. This work examines the logistical and organizational problems that crippled the movement prior to the end of hostilities in Europe, as well as the American postwar counterinsurgency campaign that wiped out what surviving …

Finding aid and scans (Click on "Additional Files" below) for Manuscripts Small Collection 2710. Three letters written by “Tom” to his brother Summers, mother and “Mary,” from May-July 1942. He describes his work at an unnamed location constructing a galley, mess hall and housing, and the hauling of building materials up a hillside using a cable car system called a “kah-vall-ee.” Includes another soldier’s whimsical story about mishaps with the contraption, titled “Kah-vall-ee: The First in a Series of Battery ‘L’ Incidents.”
