Product hibernation—when end-of-life products are kept but no longer used—poses a significant barrier to extending product lifespans within a circular economy. In households with young children, this challenge is particularly evident: toys are frequently outgrown but retained or ultimately discarded once deemed obsolete, even when fully functional. This paper presents findings from a mixed-method study involving interviews with ten families, a survey of 101 families, and an inventory analysis of thirty- three hibernating children’s toys. This article examines how co-creation reshapes roles, power relations, and material practices in the design of tactile learning resources for visually impaired children (VIC). Drawing on Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) and interviews, prototyping sessions, and observations in Chinese educational settings, the study highlights three under explored dimensions of co-creation: (1) the recalibration of power from hierarchical expertise to fluid, reciprocal collaboration, (2) the active agency of tactile materials as non-human co-authors, and (3) the cultural-technical hybridity that enables design innovations to scale within broader educational and policy landscapes. This paper investigates how the Danish art collective SUPERFLEX make use of actual or mediated hypnotic situations in five key artworks: Experience Climate Change as an Animal (2009), The Financial Crisis (Session I-IV) (2009), Hotline til udkanten (“Hotline for the Peripheries” (2010), The Working Life (2013), and Inter species Café (2021). Drawing on concepts from speculative design, psychoanalytic theory, and affect studies, the paper argues that SUPERFLEX uses hypnosis not only as a therapeutic tool but also as a speculative strategy. Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS) demonstrates strong potential for gait rehabilitation in individuals with neurological disorders. However, its clinical adoption remains constrained by reliance on therapist supervision and insufficient support for home-based training. To address these limitations, we developed the Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation Interactive System (RASIS)—a digital rehabilitation platform featuring modules for case management, seamless wearable sensor pairing, dynamic rhythm adjustment, real-time gait tracking, and personalized training feedback. As collaborative digital tools and shared-screen applications proliferate, it has become essential to examine how group dynamics and physical layout jointly influence user experience. In this work, we explored how the combination of spatial setting and gender composition shapes interaction in a two- player digital game. This study explores the potential of the Bee Buzz Buddy prototype, a tangible interaction design, in encouraging young children’s indoor physical activity through imaginative play. It examines how such designs can support full-body movement and foster sustained engagement in physical activity. The prototype was tested in participants’ homes for two months, using a mixed-methods approach that included observations, parent interviews, and diary logs to assess its impact. Design for Vulnerables was an international collaborative research initiative that explored how participatory design can address socio-environmental challenges in vulnerable communities across urban, peri-urban, rural, and forested settings within the semiarid region of Chihuahua, Mexico. Through participatory action research, the process integrated in-depth stakeholder engagement using semi-structured interviews, community immersion through neighbourhood walks, participatory mapping workshops, and in-community prioritization sessions. The DV project co-developed and implemented six technological “hubs” addressing mobility, water, agriculture, and environmental sustainability. Touch serves as a bidirectional emotional channel in human-computer interaction. However, current affective haptic systems remain constrained by static design paradigms that overlook both the temporal dynamics of emotion and the cultural situatedness of touch. Through a systematic review of 80 HCI publications, this study explores how to design haptic interactions that transcend stimulus-response paradigms (RQ1) and establish emotionally dialogic frameworks (RQ2). Findings reveal gaps in temporal adaptability, cultural inclusivity, and multimodal expressivity. This study explores user-centered personality design requirements for service robots, moving beyond traditional approaches based on human personality psychology. Through an experiential futures methodology, we investigated what personalities three types of service robots—medical, transportation, and hospitality—should have from users' perspectives. Twelve participants, divided into three groups, created future scenarios and identified personality traits that robots should pursue or avoid. Our analysis revealed both context-specific and universal requirements. Context-specific patterns emerged: "competent empathy" for medical robots, balancing professional competence with emotional care; "reliable adaptability" for transportation robots, combining rule adherence with situational flexibility; and "calibrated friendliness" for hospitality robots, merging warmth …

Addressing the increasing complexity of warehouse operations and the cognitive burden imposed by conventional touchscreen interfaces, we explore how augmented reality (AR) can improve usability and performance through embodied interaction. We conducted a mixed-methods within-subjects study comparing an AR glasses-based interface, designed using PECI principles, with a traditional mobile touchscreen WMS application. This practice-based research, "Taitung Culinary Travelogue," employs comics to represent Taitung's food culture and explore their potential for cross-cultural communication and regional marketing. Through a methodology combining creative practice with case analysis, the study uses the narrative of a Japanese character discovering Taitung's "Slow Food" to examine key narrative strategies and foster cultural understanding. In an environment of fierce market competition and limited resources, the ability to continuously develop products that meet market needs is critical to the survival of micro-craft enterprises. Adopting a practice-led perspective, this study examines how a 15-year-old micro craft brand applied bricolage theory to transform its cultural products under resource constraints and severe market challenges. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the facilitating effect of AI-generated content (AIGC)–assisted science exploration autonomous games on children’s metacognitive development, to propose a metacognitive cycle design, and to verify its effectiveness through experimental methods. METHODS: The study was conducted with 60 five-year-old children in a public kindergarten in Hunan Province, China.
