Este artículo analiza el diseño sin género a través del análisis histórico de tradiciones cerámicas influyentes y utensilios específicos del uso cotidiano. El objetivo es examinar si las asociaciones entre los utensilios cerámicos y el género constituyen cualidades inherentes a su diseño o si corresponden a una construcción cultural producida en el proceso de interpretación social. Metodológicamente se realizó un análisis histórico-comparativo de piezas representativas y tradiciones cerámicas específicas de la cultura china y japonesa, particularmente utensilios de uso común y surgidos durante los inicios de la tradición cerámica en ambas culturas. This article offers a case study of the protagonist of the novel Musilin de Zangli by Huo Da, as a representation of the stigmatization and marginalization of the Hui Muslim community in Beijing in the early 1960s. Drawing on this portrayal, the novel’s subliminal and allegorical dimensions, and an examination of the mechanisms of “domestic othering” operative in Maoist China, the study discusses how the text advances a veiled critique of the abuses and excesses experienced by this community in the period leading up to, and including, the Cultural Revolution. Materializing the Interface: Personal Data Feeds Generative Art is a data-studio capstone project that reconstructs elements of desktop and mobile interfaces as handmade mixed-media artifacts, then digitizes them as an interactive website where generative text and images are fed by personal data flows. Twenty-one paper collage windows — built from cardstock, risograph-printed paper, and mixed media — were photographed, digitized, and activated using code to become the interactive surface of a desktop view driven by browser history.
