Spotlight On Public Libraries: Teaching Totes: Interactive Learning In A Box At Greenville County Library System

The Greenville County Library System (GCLS) is excited to introduce Teaching Totes, new interactive learning tools for families, teachers, caregivers, and homeschooling families.

Teaching Totes are portable plastic bins featuring themed Library System materials designed to create fun and interactive learning experiences for young children. By using themes connected to learning standards, the tote materials offer parents and teachers the opportunity to foster early learning skills necessary for the introduction of foundational concepts.

This paper examines the development process of a library Blackboard course by a Research & Instruction Librarian at the University of Mississippi over the course of one summer. The Library Skills and Orientation course sought to address two issues: limited first-year instruction capabilities and underdeveloped skillsets in upper-level students. This study investigated public library services on the literacy level of users in Kenneth Dike E-Central Library, Awka. Five research questions were used for the study. The research method adopted was the survey method and population consisted of 2543 registered users of Kenneth Dike public library. A sample size of 345 users was used. Mean was used for data analysis. Questionnaires and observation checklist were used for data collection. The present study aimed to scrutinize the EFL students' perspectives on library in various modalities to mediate EFL learning and to know the correlation of the EFL students' attitudes to the EFL students' academic achievement. According to the literature reviewed in this article, faculty members who are involved in research have a variety of information-seeking behaviours. Scholarly information needs are represented in a new way by a new model. Career advancement, discovery tools, and interpersonal networks all play a role in the model's design. TD Wilson and James Krikelas' theoretical frameworks play a significant role in constructing the model for describing scientific information needs. University administrators and librarians can use this model to help faculty with their information-seeking, research, and teaching endeavors.

The study analyses research productivity of College and Research Library Journal from 2012 to 2021 using bibliometric method. The journal published 808 research papers within the period. The published papers were analysed to determine, the type of document published, chronological distribution of published documents, authorship pattern, most productive articles and the subject coverage of published articles. The result of the study revealed that the types of documents published in C&RL include articles, book reviews, editorial materials, errata and letters.
