Introduction: This study examined the use of open access journals by librarians in Ghana. The objectives were to establish the familiarity, attitude and benefits of open access journals among librarians in Ghana.

Method: This study uses a survey research design. A web-based questionnaire was used to seek information on respondents’ demographics, awareness, use, attitudes and benefits of open access journals.

Analysis: Descriptive statistics was used to analyze survey results. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for the analysis of data collected from 103 librarians who are members of the Ghana Library Association.

Several Thai universities have been developing institutional repositories for over a decade. The libraries, which are in charge of maintaining the repositories, and their repository staff have encountered challenging changes along the way. The following three major changes will be discussed in this presentation: 1) making IR collections more open, 2) aligning practices with global standards, and 3) expanding the content coverage and services to include research data.

The presentation showed that the rising amount of OA full text, coupled with increased availability of open scholarly metadata due to the rise of persistent Identifiers (PID) infrastructure like Crossref, ORCID, Datacite, and Research Organization Registry (ROR) has led to the emergence of new innovative tools and features that leverage these sources of open data. He provided an overview of the range of new tools available based on open access data, which includes discovery indexes like Lens.org, literature mapping tools like Citation Gecko, Litmaps, Inciteful, VOSviewer or new features such as contextual citations and more.
