Background

In 2015, Jefferson Health completed the process of merging with Abington Hospital. In 2021, Jefferson Health completed the process of merging with Einstein Philadelphia Hospital. Graduate Medical Education (GME) leadership at both hospitals, in conjunction with the Thomas Jefferson University Libraries' leadership, identified a need for a clinical librarian to provide library support and services to their faculty, residents, fellows, and staff, building on a model introduced in 2019.1 Library support is essential to fulfilling the scholarly output requirements of ACGME accreditation.2 This was a new position created to help integrate both hospital networks into Jefferson Health …

Archival literacy, the skills and knowledge one needs to effectively utilize an archive or special collections, is often taught to undergraduate students during one-shot instruction sessions or semester-long courses. For users who do not attend these sessions, archives may be inaccessible due to a lack of archival literacy. In the digital age, one way for institutions to bridge the gap between archives and users who do not attend these instruction sessions is by creating websites that align with principles of archival literacy.

In its implementation, the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia involves non-governmental institutions, namely state universities and history and culture activists in the nomination, and also involves community organizations, political organizations, and companies in mobilizing participation. This case study explores the design and implementation of a Chat-GPT literacy workshop for undergraduate students, aiming to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the AI-driven information landscape responsibly and critically. Drawing from a comprehensive literature review on AI literacy and employing a postphenomenological lens, the workshop incorporated best practices for teaching ChatGPT skills, including an emphasis on ethical considerations and critical reflection on the human-technology relationship. This semi-autobiographical essay explores the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on academic libraries and in particular, information literacy instruction. In exploring the ethical implications of AI and the importance of (re)imagining how AI will affect labor in academic libraries, the author utilizes sociological and historical approaches. Politics And Collection Development: Behaviors In Library Collecting Based On Political Climates, Zachary G. Stein, Lindsey M. Reno

Over the last several years libraries in the United States have dealt with an increasing number of book challenges and calls for censorship of materials. The challenges and calls for censorship are no longer only from library patrons, but now include national organizations and even local and state legislators. Some of these actions have moved to criminalize librarians and curtail first amendment rights. Due to this new climate, it is important to examine the effect these culture wars have on library collection development decisions. This quantitative study seeks to answer that question with a nationwide survey of library professionals.
