Musselman Library’s Digital Scholarship Committee supports high-impact student projects that use digital tools and methods to interpret, analyze, and present humanistic research. In addition to facilitating an eight-week summer research fellowship, the Committee partners with faculty members to design and oversee digital projects introduced as course assignments. This poster provides an overview of the Committee’s activities from fall 2015 through spring 2019.

This paper examines how Knowledge School principles can help libraries develop a more nuanced understanding of how social and cultural differences shape knowledge production and dissimi-nation within LGBTQ+ communities. I focus on information literacy (IL), in which practitioners teach individuals to seek, evaluate, and use information. IL can empower communities by enhancing education, confidence, and decision-making. However, libraries often approach IL from a deficit, skills-based perspective by envisioning communities as lacking the requisite knowledge to fulfill their information needs. Although our Sierra system runs well, periodic maintenance helps us recognize trends that determine when to grow and when to shrink our system. Changes on campus and in our community indicated it was time to closely examine our coding structure and do some cleanup. This presentation discusses ways to find and safely remove outdated patron types, item types, and other codes.

This fall the Alexander Campbell King Law Library at the University of Georgia turned library orientation for incoming students into a Fest, and opened the event up to the entire law school community. The idea for a fest was a collaborative one, with examples from other library orientation programs as well as UGA’s staff resource fair, our experiences at conferences like CALICon, and even a AALL poster session contributing to the final event design and deployment. Exploration Of Level Of Computer Anxiety Among Veterinary Students, Nirmal Singh, Sanjay Chandwani, Jaswinder Singh, Dhiraj Kumar

Purpose: The study was executed to have an insight to the computer anxiety of veterinary science students pursuing bachelor and masters’ degree programmes, respectively, at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Punjab (India).

Design/ Methodology: A pretested and validated Computer Anxiety Rating Scale (CARS) was applied to examine the computer anxiety level of veterinary students. Stratified random sampling method was used to choose sample for study. The data analysis was performed using percentage, frequencies and via Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).

Young adults are typically one of the most difficult target audiences for public libraries. Representation is important ‐ if a young reader cannot relate to the main character, they are likely not to care about what happens to them.The purpose of this study is to conduct a content analysis of popular YA novels published over the past decade to determine how often minorities are portrayed and how this portrayal has developed over time.
