The Grand Challenges in Assessment Project (https://assessment.charlotte.edu/excellence-assessment/grand-challenges-assessment-project) is a national, collaborative effort to create national strategic plans to address pressing challenges facing assessment in higher education. Endorsed by key higher education assessment organizations including the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE), the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), and the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA), as well as the Assessment Institute, assessment practitioners and community members across higher education participated in the identification of three grand challenges facing assessment in academia: (1) using assessment findings to increase equity, (2) using assessment …

Next time you come to the library, take a look at the exhibit cases by the Rare Books Room corridor. The two exhibit cases embedded in the walls of the corridor now feature highlights from the McGovern Historical Center (MHC) collections and brief overviews of major collecting areas.

The other half of the exhibit focuses on the MHC’s archival collections. Featuring archival materials in a variety of formats—photos, films, drawings, and more.

Japan is no longer a rich country. The poverty rate for “a single adult household with at least one child” is the third highest among the 44 countries of OECD. Public libraries should provide study-aid books, workbooks, and IT equipment to poor students. Based of this idea, we first identified 129 study-aid books and workbooks for junior high and high school students. Next, we investigated whether public libraries of all 1,392 Japanese local governments held them. Then, we asked 631 students whether they wanted public libraries to hold the books and IT equipment such as Nintendo Switch and iPad. Furthermore, …

This study aims to analyze the implementation of archival policies in the Directorate General of Regional Autonomy, Ministry of Home Affairs (Ditjen Otonomi Daerah Kemendagri). This research was conducted using a postpositivist approach and qualitative data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that almost all the variables of policy implementation support the archival implementation at the Directorate General of Regional Autonomy. This study aims to analyze the development of the topic of digital archives in order to find solutions to various problems in managing digital archives with the risks caused by the creation of digital archives. The method used is literature review related to digital archives published between 1982 and 2022 taken from Scopus database. “Digital archives” is used as a keyword to reach relevant publications. VOSviewer was applied to perform a bibliometric analysis of this article.
