Discovering Kentucky: What I Learned Processing Public Policy Papers, Sarah Coblentz

Over the course of one year Sarah processed collections relating to public policy as the Earle C. Clements Graduate Assistant at the Special Collections Research Center at UK. Through this position, she was able to learn more about the state of Kentucky and those fighting to protect its history and environment.

The University Archives Department at Indiana State University (ISU) assists faculty, students, and the public by providing access to and preservation of primary resources and ISU history. Despite the resources and services available, archival holdings are often underused and receive few donations from students and student organizations. These students are often unaware of the function and uses of the archives. To address these concerns, Special Collections staff have created a website utilizing the Omeka platform called STATE-IT to engage students with the University Archives. The Society of American Archivists Congressional Papers Section formed the CSS/CMS Task Force in August 2016 to study the issue of constituent correspondence management systems, and this report addresses the ongoing development and use of constituent services data in Congress; the vendors, systems, and functionality; and the obstacles faced by collecting repositories. It provides an overview of research conducted with analog constituent correspondence and the vast potential for research with constituent data. The report recommends a vested advocacy coalition to support management guidelines in member offices, in commercial vendors working with congressional offices, and in collecting repositories, and it calls …

In 1864, the same year the University of Denver was founded by John Evans, then the Territorial Governor of Colorado and the Superintendent of Indian Affairs, a group of U.S. militia attacked and killed vulnerable members of the Cheyenne and Arapaho nations at Sand Creek. This research presents about human resources at Special school of A Pembina Tingkat Nasional Lebak Bulus Jakarta. The purposes of this research are to describe the teacher-librarian motivation at the works and any factor affecting. A case study method is used in this qualitative research. The result shows that the motivation of teacher-librarian works based on his/her desire to make a better library. In addition, the factor which influence the motivation of teacher library based on achievements, acknowledgment, responsibility and their status.

This study discusses the use of school libraries and the use of library clubs (books club) which is represented in the animated series "Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai” (A Good Librarian Like A Good Shepherd). This research is a qualitative research with framing analysis approach. The result shows that this animation serial represented school library purpose and utilization, especially in books club activities as one part of school library. The function and utilization of school libraries is represented through framing analysis tools. Framing analysis tools more focus on the metaphorical analysis contained in this animated series. This study discusses the user attitudes in handling library materials. The study was conducted at the library of University of Indonesia. This research uses qualitative approach with case study. The data was collected by conducting observation, interview, and document analysis. The finding shows there are some of book mutilation and vandalism activities caused by users. This study suggests that the library needs to conduct a user preservation education program to prevent vandalism.

This study aims to describe reading habits of elementary school student at Sekolah Dasar Negeri Anyelir 1 Depok Baru, Jawa Barat. This is a quantitative research with case study method. The data collected by distributing questionnaire towards 8 years old of 152 students at the particular school (total sampling population). The result shows that reading habit level of participants are categorized low. Less than 55% participants claimed they spent their leisure time for reading. This research suggest that parents and school teacher need to cultivate reading habit of the kids. Book habits among children also needs to be preserved as …
