Background: Aggression and violence (AV) towards frontline healthcare professionals (FHPs) represent a rapidly increasing strain on hospitals, impacting clinician mental health and the provision of patient care. Little is known about the perceptions of healthcare professionals on current aggression management practices. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the perceptions of FHPs on AV in hospital emergency departments (EDs). Methods: Eight semi-structured focus groups consisting of 6–10 participants from five hospital EDs were held. Participants included medical doctors, nurses, and work health safety staff. Thus, a stringent Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guideline is needed, notably through early Return to Work (RTW) policies. In this review we explore how the acceleration of the RTW process influences employees, factories, and policy after accidents. Background: N,N-Dimethylformamide (DMF) is an aliphatic amide which is miscible with water and a majority of organic liquids. Due to its amphiphilic properties, it is a widely used industrial solvent, especially for polymers. DMF has been consistently hepatotoxic, inducing effects on the liver at lowest concentrations or doses. N-acetyl-S-(N-methylcarbamoyl)cysteine (AMCC) which is one major metabolites of DMF, found in urine after DMF exposure of the whole workweek.

This study aimed to determine a relationship between ammonia exposure based on the length of work and lung function abnormalities among traditional scavengers at the Sumur Batu Landfill, Bekasi City, West Java Province, Indonesia. Introduction: During public health emergencies, such as the coronavirus 2019 pandemic, breastfeeding is still the recommended feeding option, and mothers and babies may need additional support to reach breastfeeding goals. Pandemic-related, clinic-level restrictions posed new challenges for postpartum mothers and their healthcare teams, including lactation professionals (LPs). The pandemic and subsequent restrictions may have impacted lactation professionals’ work-related stress and limited their ability to provide lactation support. Background: Rural cancer survivors may face greater challenges receiving survivorship care than urban cancer survivors.

Purpose: To test for rural versus urban inequities and identify other correlates of discussions about cancer survivorship care with healthcare professionals.

Methods: Data are from the 2017 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), which included a cancer survivorship supplement. BACKGROUND: Reusable elastomeric half-mask respirators (EHMR) are an alternative to address shortages of disposable respirators. While respirator discomfort has been noted as a barrier to adherence to wearing an N95 filtering facepiece respirator (FFR) among health care personnel (HCP), few have examined EHMR comfort while providing patient care, which was the purpose of this study.

Well-being initiatives are essential components in fostering an engaged workforce and creating an effective health care ecosystem. Health care professional (HCP) burnout is widespread and has worsened since the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2014, with Health Resources and Services Administration funding support, the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine created an online course for HCP well-being. It was subsequently studied in medical residents and revised in 2020. In this study, we explore the impact of the course across larger systems, as well as the long-term impact on HCPs.

The purpose of this thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability of a haptic-based intervention designed to reduce hand motions and, consequently, the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among operators in a manufacturing facility. The intervention involved using ergonomic gloves equipped with haptic feedback, intended to encourage proper hand motion and reduce unnecessary movements.

The purpose of this research was to explore the relationship between incidence of recordable exertional heat illness (EHI) and daily high wet bulb globe temperature (WBGTmax) or daily high Heat Index (HImax). Additionally, the effect of the previous day’s exposure to heat stress was investigated. Illness and injury records were collected during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response. All OSHA recordable EHI cases were extracted for study. The highest estimated WBGT and HI on the day of incident were compared to the prior day. Slip and fall injuries and fatalities continue to be a signiϐicant problem at work and in the community. Water is the most common contaminant that reduces traction on ϐloors and other walkway surfaces resulting in a slip and fall event. This project investigated 10 common ϐlooring surfaces to assess their slip resistance when dry vs wet and coated vs uncoated. Investigators used the English XL Variable Incidence Tribometer to measure slip resistance under all conditions. Results revealed a signiϐicant (p - value < 0.05) loss of slip resistance when wet vs dry. Investigators also found signiϐicant (p - value < 0.05) increases in traction when using a coating under wet conditions. Researchers support the use of coatings for ϐloors and walkway surfaces that increase traction and reduce the chances of slip and fall events under all conditions.
