Purpose: This study examined the effectiveness of laser utilization in stabilizing periodontal disease over a one-year period. This research focused on the results following scaling and root planing with adjunctive laser-assisted periodontal therapy and laser bacterial reduction at subsequent periodontal maintenance visits. While short-term advantages are documented in the literature, research on sustained effectiveness is limited. Methods: A retrospective chart review of 30 adult patients who received the above treatment was conducted. Periodontal charting was recorded at three visits over one year. Objective: To compare the effects of ketorolac and dexamethasone on postoperative pain in patients who underwent impacted mandibular third molars surgery. Material and Methods: A double-anonymized clinical trial study involving 60 patients with impacted third molars. The samples were randomly divided into two groups by block randomization method: DG: Dexamethasone (8 mg) and KG: Ketorolac (30 mg). The severity of pain was assessed using the visual analog scale and Wong-Baker Faces Pain Rating Scale immediately and during the first to seventh days after the surgery. OBJECTIVES: To compare surface treatments (as-printed, optical polish, resin-coated, polished) of two 3D-printed occlusal device materials (KeySplint Soft and NightGuard Flex 2) cured with or without glycerin for surface roughness, translucency, and coffee staining. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Discs (2 mm thick) from two 3D-printed occlusal resins (KeySplint Soft and NightGuard Flex 2) were printed using a DLP 3D printer (SprintRay Pro 95), cleaned (ProWash S), and cured (ProCure 2) with or without glycerin. Patients with a mixed dentition can present for dental treatment with a nonvital primary tooth. The treatment of choice is often extraction, with the subsequent space presenting a cosmetic issue or requiring a space maintainer to preserve arch integrity for the erupting permanent teeth. Presented is a nonsurgical alternative treatment that saves the tooth, is less invasive, and may be preferred by some patients and their families. It is a procedure that may often be overlooked but can be included in the armamentarium of general dentists, pediatric dentists and endodontists.
