Fungicide use in the United States to manage soybean diseases has increased in recent years. The ability of fungicides to reduce disease-associated yield losses varies greatly depending on multiple factors. Nonetheless, historical data are useful to understand the broad sense and long-term trends related to fungicide use practices. In the current study, the relationship between estimated soybean yield losses due to selected foliar diseases and foliar fungicide use was investigated using annual data from 28 soybean growing states over the period of 2005 to 2015. Clearfield® Production System (CPS) for rice was introduced in Malaysia in 2010 as the current best solution to combat weedy rice (Oryza sativa) especially in direct-seeding system using imidazolinone-based herbicide (commercial name: OnDuty®). Although CPS has widely implemented in many rice fields in Malaysia, some of the major concerns of CPS are the probability of weedy rice to become resistant to OnDuty® and herbicide residual effects to rice agro-ecosystems and other environments. Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) are the most important polymers used predominantly in present world. Since synthetic polymers hardly undergo degradation and remain in the environment for a very long time, up to 1000 years, these drawbacks increase the percentage of solid wastes in landfill and threaten the environment. To date, Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) landfill is the most favored disposal method especially among the developing countries.
