How do public libraries remain relevant and top of mind in their communities, all while giving their patrons the resources they need? They take the library to the people, which is just what the Piedmont Regional Library System did in May, 2020. Just as COVID-19 was sweeping the country, this public library system headquartered in Jefferson, Georgia launched PuRL, the (Pop-up Rolling Library). Think bookmobile, but even better.

Academic Libraries And Athletics Programs: The Current State Of Select Marketing And Development Partnerships, A. Blake Denton

In 2019, this author published a literature review that identified and described 35 partnerships between academic libraries and athletics departments at higher education institutions in the United States, 20 of which were established for library marketing and development purposes. Most of these marketing and development arrangements were forged over a decade ago and the literature documenting them is pri-marily dated. Furthermore, multiple questions were raised about the nature of this type of partnership and the specific terms and conditions of many of these arrangements are not addressed in the known body of literature. For many public libraries, particularly those in rural areas, a lack of funding, staff time, and distance from training locations create barriers to providing training and development to their staff. While stud-ies exist on issues facing rural libraries and on the use of digital training tools in libraries, few studies have combined the two topics. This mixed methods study examines what happens to the role of the school librarian when schools move to a 1:1 model where every student has a digital device. Using the literature to understand expectations for librarians, the researcher surveyed experienced South Carolina school librarians to determine how 1:1 computing was implemented and supported in schools and if the role of the school librarians has changed as schools transition to a digital environment. The researcher found that there was little uniformity in deployment and support of devices in 1:1 schools, but that librarians felt their roles had changed and their overall …

This paper attempts to show up the growth trends on Medicinal Mushroom literature and make the quantitative and qualitative assessment by analyzing various features of research output and Citations impact based on the Scopus database. A total of 3513 publications were published on Medicinal Mushroom during 1990-2020. Year 2019 has highest publication of 363 whereas the year 2015 scores the highest citation impact of 5612. The People's Republic of China has the highest share 1125 of publications and received 19435 Citations followed by Taiwan with 5311 Citation for 288 publications, India with 3087 Citations for 275 publications. This study investigated awareness of Institutional Repositories (IRs) amongst students of the Department of Library and Information Science, the Federal Polytechnic Offa. Descriptive survey research design was adopted; one hundred and fifty (150) students, which constituted the sample for the study, were selected using simple random sampling technique. Questionnaire was the instrument for data collection and data were analyzed using simple frequencies and percentages. From the study, it was established that the respondents were aware of institutional repositories and that there was an institutional repository at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa. This article outlines the challenges and successes of a library outreach team at a small New England college campus during the COVID-19 pandemic. In March of 2020, the highly residential College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, sent almost all students home to continue their classes online—yet no online classes had ever been taught at the college before. For the first time ever, the college’s libraries were in the position to rebuild all promotional communications and activities from scratch—pivoting from a largely in-person setting to an entirely virtual setting. Objective: This study aims to identify the core journals cited in the health care management literature and to determine their coverage in the foremost bibliographic databases used by the discipline.

Methods: Using the methodology outlined by the Medical Library Association’s Nursing and Allied Health Resource Section (NAHRS) protocol for “Mapping the Literature of Nursing and Allied Health Professions,” this study updates an earlier study published in 2007. Cited references from articles published in a three-year range (2016–2018) were collected from five health care management journals. This report presents the outcomes of the 2020-2021 EUA Open Science Survey and provides evidencebased recommendations for institutions, researchers, research funders and policymakers on the transition towards Open Science.
