Democracy Requires Good Law Libraries – With Books, Franklin L. Runge

In this brief commentary, the author argues for the continued presence of a print collection in law libraries because (1) law libraries serve as a fail-safe for democracy, (2) inexperienced researchers achieve a greater understanding of how primary law is produced when exposed to print materials, and (3) there is still a high demand for print materials in scholarly endeavors.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze trends and patterns of library marketing research results using statistical and co-word analysis with a systematic review. After going through the screening results in the Scopus database, the search results yielded 287 documents in library marketing from 1977 to mid-2021. The analysis results will produce publications, citations, sources, countries, keywords, and topic clusters. Book Acquisition And Technical Processing Pattern In Government First Grade College Libraries Of Karnataka, Ramesh Kuri

The present study examines the book acquisition and technical processing pattern in the libraries of Government First Grade College (GFGC) of Karnataka. The study includes 249 colleges spread across the state and shows various methods of book procurement and technical processing employed in the selected college libraries. It is found that 90% of colleges procure library documents based on demand from faculty and student. Almost 45% of colleges use the publisher’s catalogue tool to select documents. At most (83.94%) colleges indicated that insufficient funding was the main obstacle to acquiring reading material. In addition, more than 51% of libraries …

Citation analysis of all the journal articles published in the International Journal of Digital Library Services (IJODLS) from 2015-2017 is carried out. 144 articles published in the journal during 3 years. The highest numbers (55) of articles are published in the year 2015. The journal contained 1915 citations from 2015-2017. The average number of citations per article is the maximum in the year 2015. The study also covers the analyses of authorship patterns in citing articles. In the authorship pattern, Single author citations are dominant than others and it is 806(42.07%). The present study's focus is to analyze the top 100 cited papers (classic papers) in the field of physics education in the last thirty years. The study is aimed to provide insight into the citation pattern, authorship pattern, year, journals, countries of these classic papers with the help of bibliometric analysis. The data for the study was extracted from the Scopus database. The study indicated that among these top 100 papers maximum were in the form of research articles. This paper is an attempt to study the awareness and use of e-resources among the students at Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh, India. For the present study, survey method has been adopted using questionnaire as a data gathering tool. Copies of self designed questionnaire were distributed online through e-mail/WhatsApp to the 150 students during February-March, 2021. Out of total 150 administered questionnaires, 127 completely filled questionnaires were received back and found valid for analysis. The response rate is achieved @84.66 percent. Since March 2020, a group of librarians, professors, and legal professionals have been monitoring legal responses to COVID-19 throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Each member of the project is currently following various countries within this region. In this article, the authors will describe how the project was created and highlight the initial challenges in terms of securing and evaluating trustworthy sources of information in the middle of a pandemic. The authors will summarize the legal responses and any disinformation issues within the countries they have been monitoring: Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Drawing upon Wilson’s framework on information needs and user studies, this article investigated student entrepreneurs’ demographics, characteristics, and their fundamental cognitive, affective, and resource needs. Through a meta-narrative synthesis of 15 empirical studies and other related research, this article developed a non-exhaustive taxonomy of 60 information need topics, which hopefully would lead student entrepreneurs to success through (1) enhancing business knowledge and evidence-based decisions, (2) cultivating affective learning and personal growth, and (3) securing diversified support networks and social capital. Utah State University Libraries Cataloging and Metadata Services (CMS) unit, including student workers, transitioned to remote cataloging in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The presentation will outline the process undertaken by supervisors to evaluate and modify services and workflows to continue cataloging materials through the different phases of library capacity from shutting down most of the library, to a hybrid limited staff capacity, through staff back in the library full-time.

ClassDojo is a classroom communication and behavior management app intended to “bring every family into [the] classroom” (www.classdojo.com). The features of the platform include a points system to facilitate classroom management, instant teacher-parent communication (on the individual or class level), and student portfolios (among others).
