The quantities of agricultural commodities wasted during the post-harvest handling, storage, processing, packaging, distribution and marketing are considered unacceptably high in Abia State, Nigeria. Though the state has a sizeable number of agro-based women entrepreneurs, and a national agricultural research institute that is noteworthy in post-harvest technology (PHT) research and documentation yet, there are substantial decrease in food quality, reduced financial value and heavy losses of agricultural produce after bumper harvests in an era when agricultural research scientists have conceived improved post-harvest technologies that ought to address these problems. The aim of this study was to explore the status, collection, and challenges of community libraries in the capital of Pakistan. A purposive sampling technique was used for data collection from 12librarians/library in-charges working in these community libraries. This study found that the collection of reading materials in the community libraries was between 4000 to 7000 and offered Web-OPAC, interlibrary loan, books borrow services. These libraries have proper websites, classified books, adequate sitting arrangements, and a heating and cooling system to support the community. When the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley University Library started purchasing etextbooks for required courses in 2018, we were one of the few in the UT System who had an explicit program. Now, it’s becoming a more common practice for libraries to put funds usually reserved for course reserves or other faculty requests into ebooks. As COVID began to shut down our physical operations we began to receive a large influx of etextbook requests from faculty. Luckily, the library had a student savings tracking process in place for required etextbook purchases, and a fund designated for these purchases. The …

Tajrid al-kalam differs from other theological works with its small form. It attracted the attention of many commentators in a short period after Nasiruddin Tusi’s death. The 60-page commentary of Ali Kushchi on the Tajrid, written almost 200 years later (1420), is over 400 pages. The article provides information about manuscripts and published versions of Tajrid and its Sharhs, Hashiyas, Ta’liqats, and their features. We can witness the value of some of the Sharhs and Hashiyas in the manuscript when we refer to it. Information about these versions shows that, to date, four copies of Tajrid have reached us. Two …

In December Joe Fore, the co-director of the Legal Writing program at the University of Virginia School of Law, posted to Twitter a thread comparing tenure track and legal writing salaries. In comparing four public schools, he discovered that the average starting salary for a tenure track professor was $173,000 while the average salary for all legal writing faculty was $111,000. A few academic law librarians saw the tweet and replied that someone should do the same for law librarians, too.

The study examined the web information seeking behavior of undergraduate students by evaluating information sources for academic purpose on the web. Three hundred questionnaires were distributed evaluating students perceptions on information sources on the web. Descriptive analysis, One-Way ANOVA was carried out in the analysis of data using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. The study revealed that relevance of the information source was a major criterion for evaluation among undergraduate students in Landmark University. This case study examines an experiment in archival practice and mentorship undertaken at the University of Oklahoma (OU) during the spring semester of 2019. The project concerned the inventory of an important privately held archive in American Indian history. The case study describes the process and documentation involved in an institution assuming temporary custody of a private collection, including legal and ethical considerations of temporary custody, and explores the mentorship relationship among group of interdisciplinary faculty and students, as well as the products, both archival and non-archival, that resulted form this collaborative effort.
