During Spring 2021, eight students at the University of the Pacific participated in an internship where they performed a DEI audit of the library's book and music score collection. An internship is one documented type of High-Impact Practices and research studies show that High-Impact Practices lead to higher retention and graduation rates. Deep learning occurred as student interns participated in developing the methodology, evaluating book and music score collections, reading assigned articles pertaining to DEI in librarianship and publishing, and providing recommendations on closing identified collection gaps. The Impact Of The Interim Leadership Experience On Library Middle Managers, Ashley T. Hoffman, Amy E. G. Barker

Serving in an interim leadership role can be a great way to gain experience, but can also be stressful, negative, or traumatic for interim library leaders at the middle management level. In this exploratory mixed-methods study, researchers conducted a national survey and semistructured interviews of interim middle managers from public and academic libraries to explore the personal and professional impact of their interim role and recommend ways to improve the interim experience. The study revealed effects on individual well-being such as increased stress, but also increased confidence and positive career outcomes, particularly for librarians with a prior interest in leadership.

There is increased growth of digital repositories the world over. Many libraries, academic institutions, governmental and archival institutions are establishing and implementing institutional repositories. In Ghana, despite the growth of institutional repositories in some of the universities, the Public Records and Archives Administration Department (PRAAD), which holds the country’s cultural heritage and history still, manages manual records. Day in and day out archives in their custody deteriorate due to frequent handling and the bad state in which the repositories are. There are no backups for the documents, thus, the archives that deteriorate beyond repairs are completely lost to future generations. …

This study established the extent to which first generation publishing houses in South-west Nigeria have integrated modern electronic resources into the industry. Further, it investigated the degree of usage of electronic resources among the two major production staff in publishing houses. It also correlated the availability of electronic resources with job satisfaction among the staff. The outcome of the study revealed that the level of electronic resources availability was rated high at 130(86.7%) and 118(78.7%) through internet access and search engines respectively. This study analysed and contextualised research on LAMs (acronym for libraries, archives and museums) funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation under competitive calls for projects from 2010 to 2020. The ultimate intention was to verify the existence or otherwise of a national research agenda on these cultural institutions. The initial search and location of Spanish Ministry-funded projects in official sources was followed by data processing and grouping by subject category. A total of 145 projects were analysed. The purpose of the study was to determine the impact of library consortia on resource sharing in academic libraries in Kenya with reference to the University of Nairobi library. The study also sought to propose a framework to enhance resource sharing in academic libraries and employed a descriptive case study design using both qualitative and quantitative approaches to collect and analyse data. Archives Exhibits

IMSA students exhibit a high degree of creativity when they design tee-shirts, like the one for Harambee, or Jazz Band, or Senior Class club. And then there are sports uniforms. Did you know that one of the early teams had a corduroy baseball cap. All are part of the Archives’ extensive collection of IMSA apparel club, including Class Club tee-shirts, former sports uniforms and hats, and even an apron used by a member of the faculty serving breakfast to the seniors on the morning of graduation day. This exhibit includes that apron, some tee-shirts, and hats including the corduroy one.
