Both academic and entrepreneurial spaces benefit from the use of open resources. This presentation focuses on the latter space, as not every student is going to continue in academia. According to the National Science Foundation's 2012 Science and Engineering Indicators, "less than 17% of new PhDs in science, engineering and health-related fields find tenure-track positions within 3 years after graduation." The numbers are similar across most disciplines. Aajay Murphy prepares students for all potential post-college outcomes in this presentation, not just academia.

The National Institutes of Health has expanded their data sharing requirements for obtaining funding to now include all awards for research producing scientific data to accelerate “biomedical research discovery, in part, by enabling validation of research results, providing accessibility to high-value datasets, and promoting data reuse for future research studies.” The new policy requiring a Data Management & Sharing Plan (DMSP) for all applications goes into effect January 25th, 2023. Much as Ohio University diverted the Hocking River to avoid catastrophic annual flood damage, so too must academic libraries consider alternative means of publishing materials to reduce inflating costs that drive a catastrophic loss of resources. Although a number of academic research papers showcase the benefits of Open Educational Resources (OER) on student success metrics, the literature still lacks a central collection of knowledge identifying programmatic characteristics between 4 year public, 4 year private, and 2 year community colleges that support these OER initiatives in the United States. The conference proceedings were published via the TAMU-CC Repository. Digital copies of all posters and presentation materials were also added to the Repository. This study explores the extent of contribution of digital libraries to poverty alleviation of rural communities through skill acquisition training in Rivers State. The study was guided by one research question and a null hypothesis. The descriptive survey research was adopted. The sample size of 236 was drawn from the population of 2,355 registered learners from 12 registered vocational education centres using the convenience sampling technique. Data collecting instrument was the researchers’ structured questionnaire which was face validated by three experts. A reliability coefficient value of 0.83 was obtained using the Pearsons Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. Data were analysed using …

Objective: The objective of this systematic review is to consolidate the existing evidence on opioid use, including administration, dosing and efficacy, for the relief of dyspnea at end-of-life. The case files of the late Judge Michael S. Kanne have been donated to the Indiana University Maurer School of Law’s Jerome Hall Law Library.

Kanne, a 1968 graduate of the Law School, served on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit from 1987 up until his death in June 2022. Prior to his elevation to the Seventh Circuit, Judge Kanne served on the bench of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Indiana.

Embedded librarianship offers students, faculty, and librarians the opportunity to work closely together. After many years of collaborating with faculty partners and assisting students both inside the classroom and out, an embedded librarian in an undergraduate nursing research course sought the student perspective on having an embedded librarian.

In spring 2021, the research team scheduled focus groups to measure students’ perceptions of the embedded librarian’s impact on their research experience. Twenty-four students in five focus groups participated via Zoom. The group members met with students to capture firsthand accounts of their experiences.
