The purposes of this explanatory sequential mixed methods study were to examine the self-efficacy beliefs of school librarians about integrating technology during inquiry-based learning during the quantitative phase and then to explore how these practices about technology integration during inquiry-based learning were being implemented during the qualitative phase. This study was conducted to better understand the self-efficacy beliefs of school librarians and how they provided students with authentic and meaningful experiences when integrating technology during inquiry-based learning. Gender and whiteness structure library work in ways that continue to lack sustained critical attention, particularly in the research literature on library leadership and management. In 2020 just over 83% of librarians identified as women and as white, non-Hispanic. And 78.6% of library technicians and assistants identified as white, non-Hispanic. These demographics make librarians a slightly less diverse workforce than other professionals in educational jobs. Despite being a female-intensive and overwhelmingly white profession, the scholarship on leadership and management published in mainstream library and information science journals (LIS) rarely employs explicitly feminist frameworks or perspectives. This study aims to explore the current state of using social media and factors affecting the use, then to suggest solutions to improve social media use in Vietnamese academic libraries. Organizational politics is present in every secular establishment including the library with its attendant pros and cons. The paper aims to describe the observed interplay between organizational politics, motivation, and job performance of academic library staff to achieve organizational goals and promote workplace peace and harmony. This study is an empirical study that examined the challenges facing postgraduate students’ use of Electronic Information Resources [EIRs] for research output in federal university libraries in the southeast, Nigeria. It employed a descriptive survey design. The population of the study was registered postgraduate students in five universities libraries in 2017/2018 academic year comprising of 1,522 users. This case study examines the research support services provided by the Panjab University Library (PUL), India, and presents a clear picture of its services. The study aims to identify research support service issues discussed in academic libraries' literature, evaluate the methods used to provide research support services at PUL, and develop strategies to accelerate the delivery of research support services based on best practices and lessons learned from other academic libraries. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 129 research scholars, examining their satisfaction and awareness of the library's research support services. This case study examined the U.S. Army’s implementation of knowledge management (KM) as an integrating process within its command and control system. The research problem explored was the U.S. Army’s attempts to measure knowledge transfer using the KM Maturity Model (KM3) and KM Assessment Tool (KMAT). The purpose was to determine levels of KM maturity and knowledge barriers that affected decision-making. Web archives, such as the Internet Archive, preserve the web and allow access to prior states of web pages. We implicitly trust their versions of archived pages, but as their role moves from preserving curios of the past to facilitating present day adjudication, we are concerned with verifying the fixity of archived web pages, or mementos, to ensure they have always remained unaltered. Recent advances in computer vision (CV) and natural language processing have been driven by exploiting big data on practical applications. However, these research fields are still limited by the sheer volume, versatility, and diversity of the available datasets. CV tasks, such as image captioning, which has primarily been carried out on natural images, still struggle to produce accurate and meaningful captions on sketched images often included in scientific and technical documents. Here, we present a protocol to isolate progenitor cells from mouse epididymal visceral adipose tissue and construct bulk RNA and assay for transposase-accessible chromatin with sequencing (ATAC-seq) libraries. We describe steps for adipose tissue collection, cell isolation, and cell staining and sorting. We then detail procedures for both ATAC-seq and RNA sequencing library construction. This protocol can also be applied to other tissues and cell types directly or with minor modifications.

We team teach a semester-long credit-bearing information literacy course for urban community college students in New York City’s South Bronx. It is a capstone course, designed to support students at the end of their first two years of college as they consider the next stage in their own development, be that transferring to a four-year institution or entering the workforce. This study explored the role of the library instructor in support of serving the needs of first-year writers (FYW) in a discourse community (DC). The purpose of the website is to make this information more accessible and the topic of news literacy feel less daunting. This paper describes creating and implementing a 30-h LGBTQIA+ specialty training for community health workers (CHWs). The training was co-developed by CHW training facilitators (themselves CHWs), researchers with expertise in LGBTQIA+ populations and health information, and a cohort of 11 LGBTQIA+ CHWs who theater tested and piloted the course. The research and training team collected cohort feedback through focus groups and an evaluative survey. Findings stress the importance of a curriculum designed to elicit lived experiences and informed by a pedagogical framework centered on achieving LGBTQIA+ visibilities. This paper presents results from a participatory action research study with 46 LGBTQIA+ community leaders and 60 library workers who participated in four community forums at public libraries across the US. The forums identified barriers to LGBTQIA+ communities addressing their health questions and concerns and explored strategies for public libraries to tackle them. Forums followed the World Café format to facilitate collaborative knowledge development and promote participant-led change. Data sources included collaborative notes taken by participants and observational researcher notes. Results revealed that barriers experienced by LGBTQIA+ communities are structurally and socially entrenched and require systematic changes. Public libraries must …

Inclusive workplaces start with inclusive hiring practices and then the design and support of inclusive workplace cultures once a hire is settled. The process includes consideration of why you are looking for diverse candidates, writing inclusive job descriptions and job ads, inclusive interviewing considerations, and building an inclusive work environment and culture. Each of these considerations can be examined through a tripartite approach, exploring ways to ensure physical, intellectual, and social needs are addressed and met throughout each stage of the hiring and retention process.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาลักษณะของเอกสารจดหมายเหตุประเภทแผนที่ที่หอจดหมายเหตุแห่งชาติได้รับมอบและจัดเก็บไว้ รวมถึงแหล่งที่มาและวิธีการได้มา และศึกษาการดำเนินงานการแปลงเอกสารจดหมายเหตุประเภทแผนที่ให้เป็นดิจิทัลของสำนักหอจดหมายเหตุแห่งชาติ ในด้านนโยบายการแปลงให้เป็นดิจิทัล ด้านขั้นตอนการแปลงให้เป็นดิจิทัล และปัญหาที่ประสบ โดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์เป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล ผลการวิจัยพบว่า สำนักหอจดหมายเหตุแห่งชาติส่วนใหญ่จัดเก็บเอกสารจดหมายเหตุประเภทแผนที่ที่มีลักษณะเป็นแผนที่ แผนผัง และแบบแปลน โดยได้รับเอกสารจดหมายเหตุประเภทแผนที่จากหน่วยงานภาครัฐ และมีการกำหนดนโยบายการแปลงเอกสารจดหมายเหตุประเภทแผนที่ให้เป็นดิจิทัล หอจดหมายเหตุแห่งชาติส่วนใหญ่จัดจ้างหน่วยงานภายนอกให้ดำเนินการแปลงเอกสารจดหมายเหตุประเภทแผนที่ให้เป็นดิจิทัลโดยมีการกำหนดราละเอียดการว่าจ้างได้แก่ ค่าใช้จ่ายมีความเหมาะสมกับงบประมาณที่หอจดหมายเหตุแห่งชาติได้รับ ความรวดเร็วในการส่งมอบงาน และหน่วยงานผู้รับจ้างมีประสบการณ์หรือเคยได้รับการว่าจ้างจากหอจดหมายเหตุในโครงการก่อนหน้า และหอจดหมายเหตุแห่งชาติมีการกำหนดประเภทของไฟล์ดิจิทัลที่โดยใช้รูปแบบ JPEG และ TIFF ที่มีความละเอียดระหว่าง 200-600 dpi และใช้สื่อจัดเก็บประเภทฮาร์ดไดรฟ์ ปัญหาที่ประสบได้แก่ ปัญหาด้านงบประมาณ ปัญหาด้านบุคลากร ปัญหาด้านนโยบาย และปัญหาด้านเทคโนโลยี

หนังสือหายากดิจิทัลของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยในไทยมีจำนวนเพิ่มขึ้นบนสภาพแวดล้อมทางเทคโนโลยีที่พัฒนาและเปลี่ยนแปลงรวดเร็วรุดหน้าไปกว่าองค์ความรู้ในการจัดการ เพื่อให้สามารถเข้าถึงและใช้งานหนังสือหายาดิจิทัลในระยะยาว งานวิจัยนี้จึงเน้นศึกษาการประยุกต์มาตรฐานเมทาดาทาเพื่อการสงวนรักษาพรีมิสสำหรับคอลเลกชันหนังสือหายากดิจิทัลในบริบทห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัย 3 แห่งในไทย เพื่อเป็นแนวทางกำหนดหน่วยเชิงความหมายในเอ็นทิตี (Entities) และกำหนดค่าข้อมูลในแต่ละหน่วยเชิงความหมายที่เหมาะสมกับบริบทความต้องการของหนังสือหายากดิจิทัล การศึกษาพบว่าบรรณารักษ์ของห้องสมุดทั้ง 3 แห่งกำหนดใช้ 3 เอ็นทิตี ได้แก่ วัตถุ (Object) เหตุการณ์ (Event) และตัวกระทำ (Agent) แต่ไม่เลือกใช้เอ็นทิตีสิทธิ์ (Rights) และกำหนดระดับความสำคัญของหน่วยเชิงความหมายใน 3 เอ็นทิตีที่ระดับความสำคัญต่างกันในแต่ละหน่วยงาน และแตกต่างกับระดับความสำคัญที่ปรากฏในรายการหน่วยเชิงความหมายต้นแบบ นอกจากนี้ บรรณารักษ์ที่เข้าร่วมการศึกษาทั้งหมดมีการกำหนดค่าข้อมูลและรูปแบบค่าข้อมูล และใช้แหล่งค่าข้อมูลที่คล้ายกัน เพราะมีกระบวนการจัดการและบรรณารักษ์ผู้ดูแลคอลเลกชันหนังสือหายากดิจิทัลที่มีประสบการณ์และองค์ความรู้ในการปฏิบัติงานที่ใกล้เคียงกัน ปัญหาที่พบจากการใช้มาตรฐานพรีมิส ได้แก่ ความซับซ้อนของมาตรฐานพรีมิสซึ่งกระทบต่อความสามารถในการเรียนรู้และเข้าใจมาตรฐาน ตลอดจนการกำหนดค่าข้อมูลและรูปแบบค่าข้อมูลของบรรณารักษ์ ความสับสนจากลักษณะโครงสร้างของมาตรฐาน และความกังวลเรื่องความสอดคล้องของมาตรฐานกับระบบที่หน่วยงานใช้งานอยู่ และพบความต้องการสิ่งสนับสนุนเพื่อการประยุกต์ใช้มาตรฐานพรีมิสสำหรับหนังสือหายากดิจิทัล ได้แก่ คู่มือ กรณีศึกษา และผู้เชี่ยวชาญ นอกจากนี้ยังพบความต้องการสิ่งสนับสนุนอื่น ๆ ได้แก่ การศึกษาช่องว่างระหว่างมาตรฐานพรีมิสกับระบบคลังสารสนเทศดิจิทัล ข้อมูลชี้แหล่งค่าข้อมูล เครื่องมือสกัดและบันทึกข้อมูลแทนคน (Automation) และองค์ความรู้ที่จำเป็นต่อการใช้งานมาตรฐานเมทาดาทาพรีมิส
