There is no doubt that ICTs have altered the information management landscape globally. Although there have been recent improvements, the reality in underdeveloped countries like Nigeria has not been positive. The results of this study showed that librarians' use of ICTs for providing information services was significantly influenced by their attitude toward technology. When librarians have a good attitude, they are more likely to use the available ICTs efficiently. However, when they have a negative attitude, they may leave the available ICTs for information service delivery unused or misused. The extent to which librarians use ICTs can be greatly increased …

The study examined the level of Awareness and application of blockchain technology among librarians for effective service delivery in University Libraries in South-South, Nigeria. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. 643 Librarians in 10 federal and state-owned universities in South-South Nigeria made up the population of the study. 495 librarians were sampled using multistage sampling technique. Online questionnaire was used for data collection, which was shared via the state WhatsApp group. The data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. This study was designed to assess the effect of theft and mutilation on the use of information resources in Francis Sulemanu Idachaba Library University of Agriculture Makurdi, Nigeria. The study has four specific objectives with its corresponding research questions. The study used descriptive research design; the population of the study was 150 library staff. All the 150 library staff was used for the study as they were relatively small as such there were no need for sampling. A self-designed questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Purpose: The purpose of this ethnographic qualitative study was to identify and describe how community college library leaders utilize culturally responsive leadership strategies when leading their organizations, based on Horsford et al.’s (2011) Culturally Relevant Leadership (CRL) framework.

Methodology: This study identified and described culturally responsive leadership strategies of library leaders at the California Community Colleges (CCCs). As part of a thematic team, the researcher designed an interview protocol in alignment with the four dimensions of the CRL framework: professional duty, personal journey, pedagogical approach, and political context. The BC Digital Commons (DC) is an open-access robust repository of artifacts, scholarship, publications, performances, events, and more. Through Google Scholar and other search engines, the content is accessed worldwide, yet the DC remains a little-known resource on campus. This fact motivated the director of the Forrer Learning Commons to seek input on how to more effectively increase submissions and the number of users.

It is of increasing interest and importance to understand the discoverability of content hosted on institutional repositories (IRs) and data repositories beyond the library context and on the wider web, as IRs play a significant role in promoting and disseminating the research outputs of an institution. This chapter provides an overview of early studies on IR discoverability in search engines, discusses standardized metrics for repository usage and ways to monitor search engine optimization, and provides practical suggestions to expose IR content to non-Google indexes and aggregators, such as Unpaywall. SAGE Skills: Student Success is an interactive resource for undergraduates to develop and practice the academic and personal skills needed to thrive in higher education and beyond. Through interactive scenarios, short videos, self-assessments, downloadable exercises, and more, students can self-direct their learning journey through 1,100+ topics across ten comprehensive modules. Search functionality includes the option to search within the resource and to browse in the various modules. Searching works much less well than browsing, mainly because the search filters do not function as they should.

Appraisal strategies can be leveraged to inform decision-making around digital preservation planning, lending curatorial oversight to an area that is often perceived as highly technical. A prioritization matrix is a project management tool to help you narrow down multiple project or task options, and identify the highest-priority areas. They facilitate decision making, are customizable, and easy to read. This poster presentation explores the prioritization matrix methodology used by GVSU Special Collections & University Archives in digital preservation planning.

Presented at the 2023 Archival Kismet Conference "Thinking About Stuff," this presentation explores historical documents found in the Robert H. Merrill papers in the Grand Valley State University Special Collections and University Archives.

In 1920, Robert Hall Merrill, a young civil engineer from Grand Rapids, Michigan, traveled to China to serve as Assistant Principle Engineer on a reconstruction project of a portion of the Grand Canal. The Grand Canal is the longest and oldest canal system in the world. Merrill's work produced a comprehensive survey report of the Grand Canal construction area near the Yellow River.
