The proliferation of digital resources has continued to necessitate studies aimed at regulating students’ digital information-seeking behavior. This study investigated the knowledge of information ethics and digital information-seeking behavior of first-year undergraduates in Topfaith University, Nigeria. The study adopted the total enumeration technique as the entire population of 171 first-year undergraduates. A Questionnaire and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) were used for data collection. Results revealed that digital libraries ( =3.23; std dev. = .638), social media platforms ( =3.15; std dev. = .609) and the Internet ( =2.96; std dev. = .895) were the most common strategies adopted by first-year …

This study aimed to determine the effect of work-life balance and technostress creators on the psychological well-being of librarians in the Province of South Cotabato. This study used a non-experimental quantitative research design using descriptive correlational analysis. The questionnaires utilized in the research were adjusted to the goals of the investigation. The researcher polled a total of 83 librarians who were chosen through stratified sampling. The statistical techniques used to analyze and interpret the data are mean and Pearson's r. In 2018, OCLC and the American Library Association revisited a 2008 survey on the perception of public libraries. Questions looked at how participants believed libraries are funded, used, and perceived. Public libraries are valued by the public, even as perceptions move away from core aspects of library services. In-person library visits and visits to library websites have declined in recent years. Strong libraries are perceived to raise property values within a community. Libraries increasingly manage social problems, such as homelessness and substance abuse. Some libraries have social workers on staff to meet patrons at the point of need. Public libraries …

Gonzaga's University Archives & Special Collections (UASC) worked with a faculty member from the Math department to teach three classes about the history of math, view the 1714 and 1726 editions of Newton's Principia Mathematica, rare books, and tour the vault. This was an intentional effort between STEM faculty and UASC to show non-traditional users how historical records and rare books can intersect with their discipline. The students wrote a short reflection, which UASC faculty graded. This poster will highlight some of the reflections and how STEM faculty and librarians or archivists can collaborate in co-teaching.

Outreach To Distance Learning Faculty: A Scoping Review, Christina Hillman, Lucinda Ward

This scoping review examines the techniques used by academic librarians for outreach to distance learning faculty From 533 initial records, librarians included 16 articles and identified five recurring themes: in-person visits, synchronous workshops, electronic communication, branding and personalization, and campus partnerships. Despite the prevalence of literature about outreach and marketing in academic libraries, there has been little research on connecting with distance education faculty. This review highlights the need for continued exploration of this topic, including how the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to blur what it means to be a distance learning faculty.

Librarians know that authority is constructed and contextual, but getting our students there can feel as elusive as Sasquatch himself. Our Bigfoot-themed classroom activity pursues a strengths-based approach, challenging increasing incredulity for new information and checklist research mentalities among our undergraduates. It asks students to ignore the good source/bad source dichotomy in favor of the question, "What can I learn from this source?". Providence’s institutional repository Digital Commons launched in 2018, serving as the enterprise’s scholarly activity repository. After several years of successful repository usage and readership tracking, research administration initiated a new request: peer review tracking. The repository previously tracked number of article submissions but did not assess if content was published in peer reviewed journals.
