The present study explores the engineering student’s perception on usage of social media. The study adopted a survey design and data were collected from the respondents using a questionnaire. The population of the study are final year engineering students of JNTUCE Pulivendala , YSR Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh. The results revealed that most of the respondents came to know to use the social media through their friends. This study seeks to assess user perception of the quality of public library services in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana using the LibQUAL+ model. Based on a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 180 patrons of public libraries in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana using convenience sampling technique. Data was analyzed using interpretative techniques. The results showed that patrons were dissatisfied with the quality and depth of equipment and facilities (conducive environment for learning, internet connectivity and computers) and current library materials (print and electronic). Abstract

In the 1960s, before computers enabled people to combine myriad terms in a single search and “interdisciplinary research” was just coming into vogue, Ilse Bry (1905-1974), a German-born émigré librarian working in New York City suggested that the lines between the behavioral sciences and individual disciplines were not as rigidly drawn as was assumed. With this in mind, she founded the Mental Health Book Review Index (1956-1974), compiling and making sense of book reviews from some 255 journals that, she believed, signaled trends in literature and the discovery of new knowledge. This study examined the Emotional Intelligence Management Skills of Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals working in universities in Tamil Nadu. The study reveals that out of 441 respondents surveyed under the study, 325 (73.7%) are male respondents and 116 (26.3%) are female respondents. It was found that 130 (29.5%) respondents strongly agree that they can tackle typical & uncomfortable situations taking place in the library while 128 (29%) respondents strongly agree that they can share novel ideas and new information with library users and feel helpless while managing library activities. The study is on social media utilization in the teaching of library and information science courses in tertiary institutions. Survey design was adopted for the study. Three research questions were raised and answered while one null hypothesis was tested. The population of the study consisted of 41 Library and Information Science lecturers. A structured and questionnaire was used for data collection. The instruments yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.75. At a large university in the Midwestern United States, librarians work closely with an undergraduate agricultural innovation competition. Librarians serve as entrepreneurial information guides, providing business information instruction and consulting with student groups to mentor them through the innovation process. The competition, with a winning prize of $20,000, focuses on developing new products from soybeans to foster environmental stewardship and reduce reliance on petroleum. Competitions are a form of experiential learning, allowing students to fully experience the product design process and practice making evidence-based decisions. Industry standards have a significant impact on business as a means to eliminate waste, reduce costs, market products (e.g., for quality, safety, interoperability) and lessen liability (Thompson, 2011). Consequently, an understanding and the ability to use standards, agreed upon practices among interested or vested parties, is a critical workplace competency for those engaged in business and industry. The present study is a bibliometric analysis of 328 articles from 11 volumes published in International Journal of Digital Curation published by University of Edinburgh, U.K from 2006-2017. The study is based on three basic objectives in terms of yearly distribution of articles, authorship pattern and degree of collaboration in the journal. Data collection is done from DOAJ. The result revealed that year 2009 was the most fruitful year with 46 articles, Single authorship showing highest contribution and extent of collaboration recorded is considerable with a overall value of 0.69.

Despite successful application of organizational learning to enhance services in academic libraries, little is known about organizational learning in libraries of for-profit colleges and universities (FPCUs). A quantitative online survey, followed by qualitative interviews, served to assess and explore the use of organizational learning in libraries at FPCUs. Data reflected medium to high levels of organizational learning in the libraries studied, as well as a negative relationship between organizational learning and number of students enrolled. Common themes in the interview responses included external pressures from the FPCUs making it more difficult to implement organizational learning, and the importance of communication. …

In 2013, the Kennesaw State University (KSU) Library System hired its first Collection Development Librarian. Since then, the Library System has experienced remarkable changes and growth in many areas, including institutional consolidation, facility renovations, new staffing, and organizational restructuring. Of note is the establishment and extraordinary growth of the Collection Development Unit since 2015. With a good dose of creativity, these changes enabled us to grow into a flourishing team. By pulling together talent from other library units and creating positions from the ground up, we were able to generate something new.

The Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) Social Media Group initially created the CALA Social Media Tag Library in Fall 2017 to facilitate better navigation and search for social media channels, particularly the CALA Facebook public page and promote the organization’s programs and activities. The Social Media Group introduced the creation of the Tag Library to the CALA community in Summer 2018, but the tags were limited to member-only, internal use. In Spring 2019, the restructured CALA Social Media Committee reviewed, enriched, and standardized the Tag Library, and decided to make it publicly available for anyone interested in posting to CALA’s …
