In the last decade, there has been growing interest in Vehicular Ad Hoc NETworks (VANETs). Today car manufacturers have already started to equip vehicles with sophisticated sensors that can provide many assistive features such as front collision avoidance, automatic lane tracking, partial autonomous driving, suggestive lane changing, and so on. The following case study adapted a library instruction course to support students’ ability to construct a thesis statement. Given at an urban junior college, the goal of the credit-bearing course is for students to acquire effective research strategies for finding reliable information and to develop information literacy skills. For this study, pedagogy divided thesis writing development over the course of several weeks in which students reviewed sample theses and the work of their peers, providing feedback to fellow students and revising their own work based on feedback from both students and instructors. One Step At A Time: A Case Study Of Incorporating Universal Design For Learning In Library Instruction, Samantha H. Peter, Kristina A. Clement
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Innovative Pedagogy (2018-2020 archives)
This paper introduces the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), an inclusive pedagogical principle that works to make instruction accessible for all by incorporating different needs of learners into instructional design. This article provides a brief analysis of the literature on UDL within the field of academic libraries and focuses specifically on library instruction. The paper then concludes with a comprehensive case study of the authors’ journey to actively incorporate UDL into their information literacy instruction sessions over a two-semester period, including lessons learned throughout their process.

This article describes the process of redesigning UC1130: Information Literacy for College Research, a class taught at the University of Toledo, in Toledo, Ohio. This redesign was conducted by Jennifer Joe and Wade Lee-Smith, librarians at the university, and facilitated by the University of Toledo’s University Teaching Center, Denise Bartell, the Associate Vice Provost for Student Success, and Thomas Atwood, the Associate Dean of University Libraries, who was the creator of the original curriculum for UC1130. This article outlines the response by Irish academic libraries to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the resulting closure of higher education institutions and their libraries for an extended period beginning in March 2020. Academic libraries have responded by accelerating their shift to digital collections and services, by supporting and participating in remote teaching and by offering new services. The article discusses the potential longer term consequences of the pandemic for academic libraries, including budgetary constraints, an impact on the shift to Open Access, changes in library design, and new work practices. Parkview Hospital has a long history and with an accumulation of documents and photographs. These historic materials (digital and physical) reside between three Parkview departments: Marketing, Media Services, and the Resource Library. The Parkview Resource Library receives two or three requests for archival materials annually. [Purpose/significance]Through comparative research on the use of VOSviewer in Chinese and English literature,it provides reference for researchers to better use the software to achieve their research purposes.[Method/process]First,search relevant documents from the Web of Science and CNKI full-text journals database,and then conduct quantitative analysis from four aspects:time,author,subject and research topic.[Result/conclusion]The number of research papers using VOSviewer is increasing;the number of researchers using VOSviewer is growing rapidly;VOSviewer can be applied in different disciplines;VOSviewer is currently mainly used in bibliometric analysis,document visualization,and review research three aspects.

[Purpose/significance]With the development of internet and big data,corporate competitive intelligence demands are characterized by complexity,dynamics and decentralization.Based on the characteristics of different online intelligence sources,targeted and comprehensive acquisition of intelligence is a prominent problem faced by current corporate intelligence work.[Method/process]This paper firstly analyzes the characteristics and intelligence value of six typical network competitive intelligence sources,then builds a competitive intelligence collection and analysis model which features multi-source Internet information combination,including the process of competitive intelligence demands analysis,intelligence sources selection,data collection,data processing,integrated analysis,and information output.[Result/conclusion]Obtaining targeted intelligence based on the characteristics of different intelligence sources is the key to efficient intelligence work.The …
