Citation Analysis Of Doctoral Theses In Library And Information Science Submitted To Manipur University During 1989-2017, Jaba Moni Das, Dr. Dipen Deka Assistant Professor

Abstract

The present study applies the citation analysis method to analyze Library and Information Science (LIS) doctoral theses submitted to Manipur University during 1989-2017. A total of 2,725 citations appended to 27 LIS doctoral theses examined for bibliographic forms, authorship pattern, and their collaboration level, chronological-wise distribution, the applicability of Bradford's law, rank-wise list, core journal list, country-wise list. The study finds that journals are the most cited resources, followed by books. Single-authored works are found dominant in both journal and book citations. The country-wise distribution of journals reveals that 412 citations (38.52%) were from India, followed by the UK …

This study examined the research productivity on Knowledge Management from Pakistan during the years 2000-2020. The study tends to determine the year-wise publications, authorship pattern, total count of citations, citations per year, most cited publications and the most prolific authors. The data for the study was extracted from Google Scholar by using bibliometric tool “Public & Perish”. The study examined the correlation between information retrieval skills possessed by undergraduates and the use of library information resources in a Nigerian University of Education. A Correlational survey research design was adopted. The population of the study consists of the entire cohort of undergraduate students in Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State. The paper explores the growth pattern of Alzheimer’s disease literature, published during 2014-2018. The data has been retrieved from the Web of Science database by using the keyword ‘Alzheimer’s Disease’. The downloaded articles were classified chronologically and transferred to a spreadsheet for the analysis as per the objectives of the study. The study results revealed that a total of 38936 publications were found out of which maximum publications (8355) were found in the year 2018 and the minimum 7192 publications were found in the year 2014. To meet the challenges of a data-driven society, high school students need new arrays of literacy skills. In the United States, school librarians, who work across disciplines, are well-positioned to help students improve their data practice, but they first need new domain knowledge. This article presents findings from an evaluating survey and session evaluation data from a virtual data literacy conference, which were part of a federally-funded project to develop data literacy skills among high school librarians and educators. We have accessed the required data from 2008 to 2017 from this database and evaluated the research productivity of SAARC countries and citations in the field of social science subject. This article studied SAARC countries publications, citations, citations per document, self-citations and degree of self – citations. Present study examines the user satisfaction of library resources and services: A survey of pre-university college teachers in Karnataka, India. Well structured questionnaires were distributed among 125 teachers to collect their opinions regarding the frequency and purpose of visit to the library. Study also highlights the available information resources and services. From the study we found that the majority of the respondents 65 (63.73%) are male followed by female respondents 37 (36.27%).
