BACKGROUND: Many disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBIs) are more prevalent in women than men and feature alterations in gastrointestinal motility and bile acid homeostasis. Mechanisms by which bile acids regulate gastrointestinal motility are poorly characterized. We recently validated an adapted tissue bath technique using everted mouse ileum, which revealed differential contractile responses to ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and deoxycholic acid (DCA). Here, we aimed to determine whether these responses are dependent on host sex, the plasma membrane bile acid receptor TGR5, or the apical sodium-dependent bile acid transporter ASBT.

OBJECTIVES: Among patients with pancreatic cancer, studies show racial disparities at multiple steps of the cancer care pathway. Access to healthcare is a frequently cited cause of these disparities. It remains unclear if racial disparities exist in an integrated, equal access public system such as the Veterans Affairs healthcare system.

METHODS: We identified all patients diagnosed with pancreatic adenocarcinoma in the national Veterans Affairs Central Cancer Registry from January 2010 to December 2018. We examined the independent association between race and 3 endpoints: stage at diagnosis, receipt of treatment, and survival while adjusting for sociodemographic factors and medical comorbidities.

However, there have been mixed recent findings regarding the potential stabilization of rates and potential divergent trends by age group. We used the most recent cancer data for the United States and examined trends in GC between 1992 and 2019, overall and in important subgroups of the population.

Introduction: Deep stabilization system (DSS) strength and endurance are crucial for injury prevention and athletic performance. Training surfaces can influence training outcomes; therefore, this study aimed to compare the impact of performing strength trunk exercises on unstable and stable surfaces with conventional trunk exercises. Materials and Methods: DSS and trunk stability were assessed before and after 10 weeks of three different training interventions among twenty elite futsal players. Heart failure is a possible complication following ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) even after revascularization. Neuroendocrine activation in the process of ventricular remodeling can be regulated by angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) as well as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. The use of ARNI in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction has been found to be superior to ACE inhibitor. The role of ARNI on cardiac function in STEMI has not been established. Karakteristik LES adalah sangat dinamis, bervariasi, dengan perjalanan penyakit yang kadang tidak dapat diprediksi. Walau saat ini semakin tinggi pengetahuan tentang patofisiologi, optimalisasi penanganan, dan banyak ditemukan obat yang lebih baik untuk terapi LES, masih banyak ODAPUS (orang dengan lupus) mengalami morbiditas, mortalitas, dan kualitas hidup yang kurang baik. Introduction. Direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) has been developed for treatment hepatitis C virus (HCV). Therapy of HCV using DAA has shown high sustained virologic response (SVR) and shortening duration of therapy. Sofosbuvir-ledipasvir (SOF/LDV) is fixed dose combination tablet of DAAs which recommended for genotype 1, 4, 5, and 6 infected patients. In developing countries, SOF/LDV still can be used as cost-effective regimen in all genotype compared with sofosbuvir-daclatasvir (SOF/ DCV). AIMS: Mutations in the DSP gene encoding desmoplakin, a constituent of the desmosomes at the intercalated discs (IDs), cause a phenotype that spans arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM) and dilated cardiomyopathy. It is typically characterized by biventricular enlargement and dysfunction, myocardial fibrosis, cell death, and arrhythmias. The canonical wingless-related integration (cWNT)/β-catenin pathway is implicated in the pathogenesis of ACM. The β-catenin is an indispensable co-transcriptional regulator of the cWNT pathway and a member of the IDs. Background: Pressure injury (PI) can occur as a result of prolonged bed rest in immobilized patients. The healing process is often slow if the wounds are not managed comprehensively, particularly in elderly patients or patients with neurological disorder, diabetes mellitus, and malnutrition.
