Drones can now be used to quickly collect imagery data in a highly automated way; however, individual images must be combined to form an orthomosaic or 3-Dimentional (3D) model using photogrammetry software. Currently, the existing software may generate erroneous output in the form of artifacts or positional errors caused by homogeneous areas, light reflections, object movement between photos, or sub-optimal algorithms. The goal of this research was to develop preprocessing algorithms that would filter movement (or other time or position-based differences) and areas of homogeneity. The importance of trees in non-forest landscapes has been the focus of only a few studies. However, these trees provide many important ecosystem services. In this study, we mapped and quantified these trees using Sentinel-2 (S2) and very high-resolution (VHR) Google satellite imagery without any field campaigns. We performed a Random Forest (RF) classification to map the spatial distribution of native trees in different scenarios. The optimal model showed an overall accuracy and kappa of 0.99 and 0.98, respectively. Drought represents a major global threat to the environment, thus leading to food insecurity. Transcription factors (TFs) have a significant role in regulating the expression of stress-related genes. TALE genes, a type of TF, are known to regulate important biological processes like the maintenance of shoot apical meristems and root formation in plants. In this study, 35 TALE genes were identified and they were found to be categorized into KNOX-like homeodomain (KNOX) and BLH/BELL-like subfamilies in Phaseolus vulgaris according to the phylogenetic analysis. In agroecosystems, interactions between maize root systems and soil microbes have significant effects on soil health and plant yield. In order to quantitatively assess the impact of this mutualism, the study used field experiments and soil analysis methods to analyze the effects of different sludge applications on soil physicochemical properties and microbial activity. The experiments were studied in a controlled trial with different sludge treatment gradients. The results showed that the sludge-applied soil exhibited positive changes in structure and biological activity compared to the control. Sherbet is one of the most popular traditional beverages in Türkiye and it has existed since the early times of the Ottoman Empire. The production of sherbet consists of the dilution of mixed syrups made from various plants, flowers, fruits, roots, barks, or seeds. In this study, purple basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) sherbet was produced, and the physical changes, phenolic content, volatile profile and sensory properties were evaluated. Comparison of analytical results of fresh basil and sherbet samples showed that the colour values of fresh basil increased after sherbet production. Chromium (Cr) is an extremely toxic metal for all living organisms and its concentration in the environment is constantly increasing due to human activities. Plants quickly absorb the Cr subsequently, it enters the human food chain and poses serious health issues. Plant parasitic nematodes (PPNs) are one of the major threats to various crops including cereals. In wheat and barleyproduction, the profitability of cultivation heavily depends on the management of cyst nematodes (CNs), especially on Heteroderaavenae, H. filipjevi, and H. latipons. In this study, field surveys were conducted in wheat and barley cultivation systems of Uşak Provinceto reveal the presence and diversity of PPNs. In total, 80 wheat and barley fields were surveyed, and samples (soil and root) wereprocessed for the isolation and identification of PPNs. Boron (B) toxicity is an abiotic stressor in plants due to the narrow threshold range between B deficiency and B toxicity.Glutathione (GSH) has been reported to reduce abiotic stress in plants, but its effect on B toxicity alleviation, particularly in riceseedlings, is not clear. Therefore, the present research yields information on the antioxidant mechanism, nitrogen metabolism, cell wallcomponents, and B concentrations that allow rice seedlings to withstand the adverse effects of B toxicity by GSH application. Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is considered important cereal crops worldwide, ensuring food security post green revolution. Our study results displayed an elevation of 10.6% in root weight density, 15.0 % of root volume density during flowering stage, respectively. The highly significant values for root weight density, root length density and root bulk density were recorded under nitrogen application of 180 kh ha-1 both at flowering and maturity stage. Moreover, delayed senescence and increase in photosynthetic rate were observed during middle and late stages of flowering enhancing light energy interception and improvement in its utilization. Herbicide selectivity is determined by the variability of herbicide degradation processes in weeds and crops. GlutathioneS-transferases (GSTs) have been widely studied in plants because of their role in herbicide metabolism. GSTs metabolize herbicides bycatalyzing reduced glutathione (GSH) conjugation. The significance of GSTs in herbicide metabolism has been understood by examiningGST in some plants. In this study, a GST enzyme was purified from broccoli using an affinity chromatography (glutathione agarose)method to contribute to the elucidation of plant GSTs. Mixing two or more essential oils (EOs) may increase effectiveness of mango anthracnose control. In this study, EOs from a wide range of plant materials were hydro-distilled and chemically characterized. EOs were tested against in vitro growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. EOs with the highest antifungal toxicity were selected for the interactive experiments. The results showed that orange had the highest extraction yield (4.94%), followed by lemon, pomelo, citronella, turmeric, ginger, lemongrass (LG), cinnamon bark (CB), cinnamon leaf (CL) and basil. To address the problem of atrazine residue in soybeans affecting the ecological environment and human health, in the presentstudy it is proposed to combine the bioorganic fertilizer DNBF10 and the highly efficient degrading bacterial strain AT-b3 with themagnetic biochar carrier MBC to form a novel DMBC-P bioremediation technology. The results indicated that the DMBC-P technologycould effectively reduce the residual amount of atrazine in soybeans and significantly enhance their growth and physiological indexes bypromoting atrazine degradation and phosphorus utilization and reducing oxidative stress. Controlled pollination, involving the transfer of pollen from Tagnanan Tall palm (male parent) to the Malayan Yellow or Red dwarf (female parent) is essential for producing MATAG coconut hybrids. However, the pollen from Tagnanan Tall (TAGT), usedin hybridization, has been reported to have a germination percentage of less than 40%. In partnership with Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District (SBSRD), we undertook a study of ecological conditions and user preferences within a quaking aspen recreational destination forest. The location, in two sections know as Run-A-Muk and Right Turn Sage (RAM/RTS), has experienced some forest die-off in the principally aspen dominated forest dissected by ski, bike, and hiking trails. Graduate student Georgie Corkery led the study and successfully completed a Master's degree, in addition to providing needed information to SBSRD regarding the status, uses, and preferred actions at this facility. Reforestation attempts in semi-arid regions are plagued with seedling mortality. Blanket greenhouse practices may not be optimal, in addition, commensalism interactions between nurse plants are considered. To better understand the effects of soil texture and nurse plant interactions on growth and drought tolerance, two experiments were developed. For soil texture, Border palo verde seedlings were grown in different-sized plant bands with three soil types. To observe the effects of nurse plants, an experiment using guayacan, was developed using Texas Ebony, as a leguminous nurse plant. Plants were also exposed to a drought experiment. To better understand linkages between hydrology and ecosystem carbon flux in northern aquatic ecosystems, we evaluated the relationship between plant communities, biofilm development, and carbon dioxide (CO) exchange following long-term changes in hydrology in an Alaskan fen. We quantified seasonal variation in biofilm composition and CO exchange in response to lowered and raised water table position (relative to a control) during years with varying levels of background dissolved organic carbon (DOC). We then used nutrient-diffusing substrates (NDS) to evaluate cause-effect relationships between changes in plant subsidies (i.e., leachates) and biofilm composition among water table treatments.
