I proposed that my master’s Project would be outreach on Entomology at four levels: School aged children, laymen, non-entomologists in a technical field, and entomologists. The idea here is basically how to talk about entomology to varying levels of expertise, from first graders to experts in both entomology and occupational health and safety. Academic advisement plays a significant role in enrollment retention and degree attainment. Little is known, however, about what master’s students want and need from their advisement experience, as most research on advisement preferences has focused on undergraduate students. The Prescriptive/Developmental Preference Scale (Yarbrough, 2010) was designed to assess students’ academic advisement preferences, particularly as they relate to prescriptive and developmental advisement. The author of the PDPS, which was piloted with undergraduate students, found that the instrument had construct validity issues, especially regarding the Prescriptive construct. Corporate training and development, despite their significance as primary learning strategies for adults, have received limited research attention. This study addresses this gap by evaluating and comparing the effectiveness of video-based and digital job aid procedural-based microlearning in a corporate setting, utilizing most of the Kirkpatrick Model: learner satisfaction, knowledge retention, and behavior change. Employing a mixed methods approach to gain a comprehensive understanding of microlearning’s application and potential for improving business outcomes, the study incorporates pre- and post-tests, participant interviews, and self-reported questionnaires. Undergraduate research is a specific pedagogical practice with an impact on teaching and learning, and the definition of what counts as research continues to expand to include different types of projects, mentors, and institutions. Diversity, equity, and inclusion in librarians’ work with students and faculty are present and growing. Collaborations between faculty, librarians, and students are furthering student knowledge in new ways. This community and an awareness of students’ non-academic challenges demonstrate the library’s contribution to students’ overall sense of belonging within their institutions. This chapter describes the involvement of an academic library with an undergraduate research program.

It is easy to become inundated with school, work, and daily life that we forget to practice mindfulness. Mindfulness “is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us” (Mindful Staff, 2020). The goal of this activity is to demonstrate mindfulness through planting a seed and practicing daily mindfulness as we take care of the seed while it grows. This research is an experiment in perspective. Using the four commonplaces (Schwab, 1978), I practiced letting the Savannah River teach me what there is to know about the water, the land, the people, and the other entities that depend on ki through artistic, ethnographic, and ecopedagogical lenses. The ethnographic findings describe the social actors that depend on ki and give a voice to the River. The a/r/tographic findings display the River on a canvas map through two hundred years using paint, clay, photography, video, abstract acrylics, and fabric. This quantitative study examined the relationship between academic integration and college persistence for female military-affiliated students at a four-year research institution. This study intended to understand the relationship between pre-entry attributes of female military-affiliated students and the likelihood of stop out and dropout. Authors used an andragogy framework to help undergraduate allied health students better understand social determinants of health (SDOH) using a photo essay assignment. The study examined students’ perceptions of SDOH in various communities, description of health outcomes associated with their chosen SDOH, and lessons learned and suggestions to improve the assignment for future cohorts. Data were extracted from photo essays from 2019–2021 and entered in Microsoft Excel and Word for data analysis after course completion. Conventional qualitative content analysis was used to analyze student evaluation data from open-ended questions. Data were extracted from 53 student essays from 2019 to 2021. …

งานวิจัยนี้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพในรูปพหุกรณีศึกษา มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสภาพการเป็นผู้เรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตของประชาชนในบริบทของการพัฒนาความเป็นพลเมืองไทย 2) ศึกษาสภาพความร่วมมือขององค์กรเครือข่ายในการส่งเสริมการเป็นผู้เรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตให้แก่ประชาชนในบริบทของการพัฒนาความเป็นพลเมืองไทย 3) นำเสนอแนวปฏิบัติในการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือขององค์กรเครือข่ายเพื่อส่งเสริมการเป็นผู้เรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตในบริบทการพัฒนาความเป็นพลเมืองไทย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) คุณลักษณะการเป็นผู้เรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตในบริบทของความเป็นพลเมืองไทย 7 ประการ ได้แก่ (1) ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการเรียนรู้และกำหนดเป้าหมายในการเรียนรู้ (2) กระตือรือร้นที่จะเรียนรู้จากแหล่งเรียนรู้ (3) มีความพร้อมที่จะแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ในระหว่างกันอย่างต่อเนื่อง (4) พัฒนาทักษะการใช้เครื่องมือและอุปกรณ์ (5) สามารถในการประเมินข้อมูลที่ได้รับจากการเรียนรู้ (6) กระตือรือร้นในการนำความรู้มาปรับใช้และ (7) มีเจตคติที่ดีต่อการเรียนรู้ 2) สภาพความร่วมมือขององค์กรเครือข่ายทั้ง 2 พื้นที่ เน้นปฏิสัมพันธ์อย่างเป็นทางการ โดยมีสถาบันพระปกเกล้าฯ มอบหมายให้ศูนย์พัฒนาการเมืองภาคพลเมือง ออกแบบหลักสูตรและกิจกรรมที่ 3) แนวปฏิบัติในการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือขององค์กรเครือข่ายฯ ประกอบด้วย ความเป็นมาและความสำคัญของแนวปฏิบัติ วัตถุประสงค์ และเนื้อหา ได้แก่ หลักการ บทบาท และวิธีการในการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือฯ

การพัฒนาโปรแกรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนเฉพาะบุคคลเพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะการทำงานของผู้ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญา มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและวิเคราะห์ทักษะการทำงานที่จำเป็นสำหรับผู้ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญาตามความต้องการของหน่วยจ้างงาน 2) พัฒนาโปรแกรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนเฉพาะบุคคลเพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะการทำงานของผู้ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญา 3) ศึกษาผลการใช้โปรแกรม และ 4) นำเสนอคู่มือการใช้โปรแกรม การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยแบบพหุวิธี (Multi methods Disign) แบ่งขั้นตอนการวิจัยเป็น 4 ระยะ คือ ระยะที่ 1 วิเคราะห์ทักษะการทำงานที่จำเป็นสำหรับผู้ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญาตามความต้องการของหน่วยจ้างงาน โดยการสัมภาษณ์กลุ่มเป้าหมายจำนวน 31 คน ระยะที่ 2 การพัฒนาโปรแกรม มีกลุ่มเป้าหมายจำนวน 19 คน ระยะที่ 3 ตรวจสอบประสิทธิภาพของโปรแกรม ด้วยการใช้การวิจัยเชิงทดลองในรูปแบบ Single Subject Design มีกลุ่มเป้าหมายจำนวน 11 คน และระยะที่ 4 พัฒนาคู่มือการใช้โปรแกรมโดยใช้การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก กลุ่มเป้าหมายจำนวน 10 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. ลักษณะการจ้างงานผู้ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญาตามพระราชบัญญัติส่งเสริมและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตคนพิการ พ.ศ. 2550 มี 3 ลักษณะ คือ การจ้างงานคนพิการด้วยมาตรา 33 มาตรา 35 (3) และมาตรา 35 (7) โดยกฎหมายเอื้อประโยชน์ให้คนพิการ ลักษณะงานมีความสอดคล้องกับศักยภาพ ความสำเร็จในการจ้างงานเกิดจากทักษะ ความสามารถ ความชอบ แรงจูงใจ และความร่วมมือจากทุกภาคส่วน ทักษะที่มีความจำเป็นมากที่สุดในการทำงานคือ ทักษะในชีวิตประจำวัน ทักษะสังคม ทักษะอาชีพ และทักษะพื้นฐานหรือทักษะวิชาการ ตามลำดับ ทักษะย่อยที่มีความจำเป็น ได้แก่ การดูแลตนเอง การควบคุมตนเอง การรับข้อมูลและทำตามคำสั่ง และการสื่อสาร 2. โปรแกรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนเฉพาะบุคคลเพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะการทำงานสำหรับผู้ที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญา ประกอบด้วย หลักการพื้นฐาน ข้อมูลพื้นฐานของผู้เรียน เป้าหมายและผลลัพธ์ของโปรแกรม เนื้อหา ระยะเวลาเริ่มต้นและสิ้นสุด กระบวนการเสริมสร้างทักษะการทำงานและแผนกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ ผู้สอนและบทบาทหน้าที่ เทคโนโลยี สื่อ และแหล่งทรัพยากร และ เครื่องมือติดตามความก้าวหน้าและวัดผลความสำเร็จ 3. ผลการทดลองใช้โปรแกรม …

This study used a quasi-experimental design to evaluate the efficacy of integrating XR welding simulations into traditional training programs. The performance outcomes of participants were assessed by an independent American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Instructor (CWI). Participants were evaluated using the NCCER Performance Accreditation Tasks evaluation. After 20 hours of training, the participants used a traditional welder to perform a vertical 3F weld on a steel weld coupon. Three treatment groups were used to evaluate the sequence of extended reality welding simulators in a traditional welding program. Insufficient research exists concerning why active-duty enlisted noncommissioned officers do not pursue education past a high school diploma. Although higher education is becoming a minimum qualification in the civilian world, only 17% of enlisted servicemembers have higher than a high school degree. The purpose of this study is to explore the lived experiences, beliefs, and awareness of Army education benefits and the disconnect between higher education enrollment and active-duty noncommissioned officers. Two-hundred and sixty-five enlisted active-duty noncommissioned officers participated in an online survey and fifty-two noncommissioned officers participated in a one-on-one interview. This qualitative study focuses on the experiences of adult learner single mothers in college. Specifically, this research sought to understand how student loan debt informs their ability to persist and their well-being. In addition, the study examined the supports single mothers in college receive and the support they need to persist to degree attainment. Using a narrative inquiry design, semi structured interviews were conducted with 2 participants from a mid-sized public university in the northeast of the United States. Research suggests student achievement improves when teachers connect with their students and create lessons and instruction based on their needs (Hattie, 2003; Stronge, 2018). Unfortunately, educators throughout the United States report losing control over the educational decisions they make in their classrooms at startling rates (Ingersoll, 2011; Wright, 2020). A recent study by Ingersoll, Merrill, Stuckey, and Collins (2018) found that approximately 50% of educators leave the profession within their first five years of teaching. การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อพัฒนาแผนการจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนที่มีต่อความสามารถในการเสริมสร้างการสืบเสาะหาความรู้สำหรับเด็กปฐมวัยของผู้ปกครองที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ 2) เพื่อศึกษาผลการการจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนที่มีต่อความสามารถในการเสริมสร้างการสืบเสาะหาความรู้สำหรับเด็กปฐมวัยของผู้ปกครองที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ และ 3) เพื่อนำเสนอคู่มือการจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนที่มีต่อความสามารถในการเสริมสร้างการสืบเสาะหาความรู้สำหรับเด็กปฐมวัยของผู้ปกครองที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลการวิจัยจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างซึ่งเป็นผู้ปกครองเด็กปฐมวัย จำนวน 45 คน ที่ได้มาโดยการคัดเลือกตามเกณฑ์ และผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียน ด้านการวิจัย และด้านกิจกรรมของพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ จำนวนรวมทั้งสิ้น 5 คน ด้วยเครื่องมือเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลประกอบด้วย 1) แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนที่มีต่อความสามารถในการเสริมสร้างการสืบเสาะหาความรู้สำหรับเด็กปฐมวัยของผู้ปกครองที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ 2) แบบวัดความสามารถของผู้ปกครองเกี่ยวกับการเสริมสร้างการเรียนรู้แบบการสืบเสาะหาความรู้กับเด็กปฐมวัยที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมของพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ 3) แบบบันทึกของผู้ปกครองเกี่ยวกับการทำกิจกรรมของพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ร่วมกับบุตรหลานด้วยวิธีเรียนรู้แบบสืบเสาะหาความรู้ 4) แบบสัมภาษณ์แบบไม่มีโครงสร้างเกี่ยวกับการดำเนินกิจกรรมวิทยาศาสตร์ของพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ของผู้ปกครองโดยใช้วิธีเรียนรู้แบบสืบเสาะหาความรู้กับเด็กปฐมวัย และ 5) ประเด็นการสนทนากลุ่มพิจารณาคู่มือการจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนที่มีต่อความสามารถในการเสริมสร้างการสืบเสาะหาความรู้สำหรับเด็กปฐมวัยของผู้ปกครองที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณด้วยสถิติพื้นฐาน ได้แก่ ความถี่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การทดสอบค่าdependent t-test และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. แผนการจัดกิจกรรม ประกอบด้วย กระบวนการขั้นตอนตามแนวคิดการจัดการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนสำหรับผู้ใหญ่ 4 ขั้นตอน 1) การสำรวจความต้องการของผู้เรียน 2) การกำหนดวัตถุประสงค์และวางแผนกิจกรรมร่วมกัน 3) การนำกิจกรรมไปปฏิบัติ และ 4) การประเมินผล โดยมีเนื้อหาตามทฤษฎีวิธีการเรียนรู้แบบสืบเสาะหาความรู้ 5 ขั้น ได้แก่ 1) ขั้นการสร้างความสนใจ 2) ขั้นการสำรวจและค้นหา 3) ขั้นการอธิบายและลงข้อสรุป 4) ขั้นการขยายความรู้ และ 5) ขั้นการประเมินผล ซึ่งได้ปรับให้เหมาะสมตามข้อเสนอแนะของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง ในส่วนที่เกี่ยวกับระยะเวลาในการทำกิจกรรม เนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับวิธีสืบเสาะหาความรู้ และเครื่องมือในการบันทึกเกี่ยวกับการดำเนินกิจกรรม 2. ผลการทดลองกิจกรรม พบว่า ความสามารถในเสริมสร้างการสืบเสาะหาความรู้ของกลุ่มตัวอย่างในภาพรวมทั้งหมดสูงขึ้นอยู่ในระดับมาก (x ̅ = 4.20, S.D. = 0.38) และจากการเปรียบเทียบเปรียบเทียบผลของการจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนที่มีต่อความสามารถในการเสริมสร้างการสืบเสาะหาความรู้สำหรับเด็กปฐมวัยของผู้ปกครองที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ ก่อนและหลังเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียน พบว่า หลังเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมตามการจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนที่มีต่อความสามารถในการเสริมสร้างการสืบเสาะหาความรู้สำหรับเด็กปฐมวัยของผู้ปกครองที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์ ความสามารถในการเสริมสร้างการสืบเสาะหาความรู้ของผู้ปกครองสูงขึ้นกว่าก่อนการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 3. คู่มือการจัดกิจกรรม ประกอบด้วย 1) การเรียนรู้แบบสืบเสาะ 2) การจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียน …

This presentation was conducted for a national conference about mentoring. The authors discussed Tinto’s Model of Institutional Departure and Schlossberg’s Model for Analyzing Human Adaptation to Transition as theoretical frameworks to explain the transition and retention of university professors. The focus on the study was the three authors who transitioned to the same university during the 2022-2023 academic year. Authors discussed their experiences of the transition and found themes related to the mentoring process that that acclimated them to the institution and influenced their retention.

This study investigated the differential effects of using non-contingent reinforcement in the form of attention as an antecedent intervention in comparison to using non-contingent reinforcement in addition to self-monitoring as a treatment package. A multi treatment single case research design was utilized in this study. Levels of student’s on-task behavior were measured to evaluate the differential effects of an antecedent intervention in comparison to the combination of an antecedent and consequent intervention. This study also only used treatments that were technologically delivered to the participants.
