This project creates an urban sublime experience at an abandoned railroad in order to foster a reflection and healing experience in terms of sexual violence. The big strategy is evoking an urban sublime in the landscape as a bridge to inform, to connect and to heal. This thesis focuses on designing adaptations in order to reduce the impact of flooding in Miami, Florida. Flooding that is generated from stormwater, hurricanes and sea-level rises largely impacts upon Miami in terms of its transportation systems, eco-system and the daily lives of its residents. Even though a large number of adaptations have already been applied in some districts of this city, , such as improvement of pump stations and pipelines, the capacity and materials of those infrastructures still cannot resist the adverse impact brought by hurricanes or other natural disasters.

The concentration of public housing in high-poverty neighborhoods has many negative impacts; it limits educational opportunities for kids, leads to increased crime, causes poor health outcomes, hinders wealth building, and decreases investments (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, 2013). This is the fourth volume of publications of the Bet She’an Archaeological Project, describing the large-scale IAA excavations at the site of Bet She’an–ancient Nysa-Scythopolis, during 1986–2002. This volume focuses on two significant assemblages of finds from the Hellenistic period recovered at the site of Tel Iẓṭabba: the stamped amphora handles and the sealings. The volume is introduced with a brief summary of excavations at Tel Iẓṭabba and an overview of the city’s history. Bet She’an V (IAA Reports 74) presents the full excavation report of the IAA excavations at Tel Iẓṭabba: the stratigraphy, architecture and finds.

Hostels are popular accommodations for students. Urban based educational systems in Bangladesh encourage students to come to the city where shared living is preferable option for them. This paper seeks to connect the work of J.J.P. Oud, Aldo van Eyck, and Herman Hertzberger, the three Dutch protagonists to the dominant social issues that occurred from the 1940s to the 1960s. Theyaddressed the following issues: poverty, the housing shortages from the pre-World War II period, the sociopolitical issues in the collective expression of the public, rapid economy recovery, large population growth, and white-collar labor in the post-World War II period. The author will examine the role played by the Dutch government in advancing a progressive social agenda, and will demonstrate both continuities and discontinuities between them.
