The catalogue for the exhibition "The Light of the Revival: Stained-Glass Designs for Restituted Synagogues in Ukraine by Eugeny Kotlyar" held at Fordham University from September 10-December 10, 2023 offers a broad perspective on the revival of Ukrainian synagogues after Ukraine’s independence. It showcases three sets of stained-glass windows, which were designed by Eugeny Kotlyar and partially implemented in Ukrainian synagogues in the period from 1995 to 2005. Two early works shown here were the first samples of stained-glass designs for modern Ukrainian synagogues, which set a new trend. The walkability of a neighborhood impacts public health and leads to economic and environmental benefits. The condition of sidewalks is a significant indicator of a walkable neighborhood as it supports and encourages pedestrian travel and physical activity. However, common sidewalk assessment practices are subjective, inefficient, and ineffective. Current alternate methods for objective and automated assessment of sidewalk surfaces do not consider pedestrians’ physiological responses. We developed a novel classification framework for the detection of irregular walking surfaces that uses a machine learning approach to analyze gait parameters extracted from a single wearable accelerometer. This Study Investigates the Mechanical Behavior of Biogenic Carbonate Sands from Puerto Rico at Grain-Scale Level. Micro-Computed Tomography Has Also Been Used to Get Insights on the Internal Structure of These Particles Before and after Loading. the Crushing Strength of These Particles Are Smaller Comparing to the Values Reported for Silica Sands. It Has Also Been Shown that These Particles Have Complex Internal Structure Including a Network of Pores Connected with Channels. This Study Also Demonstrates the Effect of Intragrain Structure of Biogenic Carbonate Sands and Shows How Internal Grain Structure Plays a Role on Particle Fracture.

What do urban designers do with culture? How might we redevelop a mid-century modern planned community through the mapping of cultural influences that shaped it? We explored memory and heritage central to cultural mapping and its participatory-based forms of public inquiry. 54 drawings integrate maps, folklore materials, archived media, photographs, and new drawings into five synchronic cultural frameworks that shaped Cherokee Village—Native American heritage, Ozark pioneer and folk heritage, camping and scouting, midcentury planned communities, and regional modernism in design and planning.

The Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) took big hits in its system transit ridership in fiscal years (FY) 2020 and 2021. In response to this emergency, GRTC immediately implemented bold management strategies to protect its operators and riders, serve essential trips, adjust operating schedules, offer free transit services, and broaden funding sources. Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) is a recommended planning strategy of smart growth and New Urbanism. In theU.S., over 90% of TOD projects are rail TOD (RTOD) projects.
