Studies on interiority have profoundly shifted the perspective of looking at urban space as a socially constructed architectural product. This study examines the meanings invested by Sukarno, the first president of Indonesia and the patron of the mosque, in Istiqlal Mosque (1962) and the Independence Square using the lens of interiority. Rather than looking at the mosque as a single monument, this study considers the mosque and its time and spatial contexts as an architectural unity to make Sukarno's vision of nationhood manifest through the interiority of the Independence Square area in Jakarta, Indonesia's capital city. During the interwar period, numerous endeavours were made to develop a rational kitchen, also called a laboratory kitchen, namely one that prioritised labour-saving efficiency through thoughtful layout and design. Catherine Beecher's work is often credited as its starting point. By synthesising household reformers' experiences and architects’ design expertise, scholars have extensively examined how rational kitchens evolved. This paper discusses the conception of the standardised Dutch Bruynzeel Kitchen (1938) by the collaborative efforts of two designers with distinct yet complementary interior design profiles. This article delves into the internal features of habitat in slum-like informal settlements, focusing on the challenges faced by the locale in the Mae Kha Canal informal settlements in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The study aims to clarify the dwelling characteristics as well as understand the interplay between housing and the living circumstances of the occupants. A mixed-methods approach was utilised, primarily employing field surveys, house investigation including arrangement and utilisation of space, and in-depth interviews with residents. تعتبر المبانى العالية أحد أقل أنماط المبانى توافقاً مع البيئة والمناخ، وذلك بسبب إنعزالها عن النسيج العمرانى المحيط وتعرضها للعديد من العوامل المناخية بشكل أكبر من المبانى المنخفضة، لذا يعتبر الغلاف الخارجى هو العنصر الأهم فى تصميم المبنى العالي لكونه بمثابة الجدار الفاصل بين البيئة الخارجية ذات الظروف المناخية القاسية وبين البيئة الداخلية التى يجب الوصول فيها لراحة المستخدم الحرارية، حيث يعد الغلاف الخارجى هو المسئول عن ما يقرب من 60% من إجمالى الطاقة التى يستهلكها المبنى العالى وذلك فى أعمال التبريد والتهوية الصناعية [1].

إعتمدت الدولة المصرية فى الآونة الأخيرة نمط المبانى العالية فى مخططاتها لمراكز مدن الجيل الرابع الجديدة الجارى إنشاؤها فى العديد من المناطق، وذلك فى إطار سعى الدولة لتغيير الخريطة العمرانية والتوسع في الإستثمار العقاري وخلق مجتمعات مواكبة للتطور العمراني والتكنولوجي بما يتوافق مع رؤية مصر٢٠٣٠، ومع البدء فى ظهور وإعتماد العشرات من مشروعات المبانى العالية فى مصر، أصبح من الضرورى دراسة تصميم الغلاف الخارجى لتلك المبانى ومدى ملاءمته للمناخ والبيئة المحلية، وذلك بهدف الوصول لأفضل أداء للطاقة وأعلى كفاءة للإستهلاك.

High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) stands as a prominent engineered decorative surface material, comprising layers of paper, resin, laminate, widely utilized in furniture, countertops, flooring, and wall panels. This study investigates the environmental impact of HPL through the lens of its carbon footprint, a metric quantifying the carbon dioxide emissions associated with its entire life cycle. A notable finding from the European Panel Federation (EPF) suggests that the carbon footprint of HPL approximates 1.2 kg CO2 eq/m2, revealing the emission intensity per square meter of produced material.
