Urbanization continues to surge, with projections indicating that by 2050, around 70 percent of the global population will reside in urban areas. In response, urban planners are exploring novel urban paradigms to ensure food security through urban agriculture, a cornerstone of sustainable development encompassing environmental, economic, and social dimensions. This study addresses a critical research gap within urban agriculture, conducting a comparative analysis between horizontal and vertical farming methodologies within urban contexts. Many clothing artifacts we find in museums or archives have been saved because of how special and precious they were. It is rare that there are everyday clothes that have survived generations. This final project examines three articles of clothing from the prominent African American Aray family of Ypsilanti held at the Ypsilanti Historical Society: a pair of gloves, a shirtwaist, and a skirt. Through material culture analysis, they reveal common everyday clothing trends with personalized touches. This thesis analyzes the traditional Korean hanok within the Western framework for sustainability across environmental, social, and economic dimensions. It then cross-references the findings of this analysis with existing theory on the cultural role of architecture to elucidate how the traditional Korean hanok can serve as a model for sustainable architecture in South Korea. Through a comprehensive analysis this thesis highlights the importance of architectural vernacular to define a sustainable building, and critiques contemporary Western ideas of sustainable architecture. This quantitative correlational study examined the extent to which servant leadership behaviors predict organizational culture in small African American Baptist churches in Central Arkansas. In light of the post-pandemic decline in church membership and participation, the study explored whether enhancing church culture through leadership practices could help stabilize or grow congregational engagement. The primary research question was: To what extent do servant leadership behaviors predict organizational culture in these churches? Five dimensions of servant leadership—altruistic calling, emotional healing, wisdom, persuasive mapping, and organizational stewardship—were evaluated. Drafting the Architectural Works Copyright Protection Act of 1990 (“AWCPA”) consisted of a bizarre hodgepodge of considerations. Ostensibly, the goal of the Act was to bring the United States unquestionably into compliance with the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, which the United States had just recently joined, with as minimal an impact on U.S. law as possible. In reality, this goal — itself not without built-in tensions — was but one of several competing forces at play in the drafting process. The other forces generally fell into three camps. The struggle for women’s rights was long fought throughout American history and Michigan played a vital role in the movement’s success. This thesis explores three monumental eras that shaped the struggle for women’s suffrage in Michigan, detailing the evolution from the 1860s Civil War Era through the late 19th and early 20th century Progressive Era. The first era highlights how the Civil War provided women opportunities to challenge prevailing gender conventions and express political opinions. This paper presents a comprehensive approach to reviewing and selecting indicators necessary for creating community environments that enhance not only the well-being of people in general but also age-friendliness. The approach aligns with international standards while catering to the specific needs of Thailand. วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงกระบวนทัศน์ของนโยบายที่อยู่อาศัยสำหรับผู้มีรายได้น้อยในประเทศไทย และ 2) ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างองค์กรรัฐกับกลุ่มองค์กรทางสังคมในกระบวนการกำหนดและดำเนินนโยบายที่อยู่อาศัยสำหรับผู้มีรายได้น้อย โดยมีหน่วยในการวิเคราะห์ ได้แก่ การเคหะแห่งชาติ และสถาบันพัฒนาองค์กรชุมชน (องค์การมหาชน) ขอบเขตการศึกษาในพื้นที่กรุงเทพมหานคร โดยใช้กรณีศึกษาได้แก่ ชุมชนแออัดคลองเตย โครงการปรับปรุงฟื้นฟูแฟลตดินแดง และโครงการบ้านมั่นคง ใช้แนวคิดทฤษฎีกระบวนทัศน์นโยบาย (Policy Paradigm) แนวคิดกระบวนทัศน์นโยบายที่แตกต่างกันในแต่ละระดับขององค์กร (Nested Paradigm) และองค์กรสถาบันนิยม โดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ รวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสารภาคทางการและงานวิจัย ประกอบกับการสัมภาษณ์ทั้งผู้ที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องทั้งผู้กำหนดนโยบาย ผู้นำนโยบายไปปฏิบัติ และผู้รับผลของนโยบาย แล้วนำมาวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบตรวจสอบข้อมูลระหว่างเอกสารและการสัมภาษณ์ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ไม่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงกระบวนทัศน์ ในลักษณะการเกิดกระบวนทัศน์ใหม่ที่นำไปสู่การล้มล้างกระบวนทัศน์ทัศน์เก่า แต่เป็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงกระบวนทัศน์ในแต่ละระดับขององค์กร ทั้งในระดับการกำหนดนโยบาย ระดับการวางแผนโครงการ และในระดับปฏิบัติการ โดยทั้ง 3 ระดับนั้นต่างวิวัฒน์เพื่อตอบสนองต่อทั้งการรักษาโครงสร้างอำนาจเดิมของสถาบัน พร้อม ๆ กับเปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างองค์กรกับกลุ่มองค์กรทางสังคมอื่น ๆ ทำให้กระบวนทัศน์เก่าและใหม่สามารถดำรงอยู่ด้วยกันได้ อย่างไรก็ตาม มีแนวโน้มว่าทั้งการเคหะแห่งชาติ และสถาบันพัฒนาองค์กรชุมชน ที่มีกระบวนทัศน์แตกต่างและตรงข้ามกัน จะไม่ส่งผลต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงกระบวนทัศน์ในระดับโครงสร้างวัฒนธรรมของสังคมไทย ในทางกลับกันทั้ง 2 องค์กรจะมีลักษณะคล้ายกันภายใต้ระบบราชการมากขึ้น

Between 1854 and 1929, the placement system that became known as the orphan trains in modern scholarship, removed neglected and orphaned children from the dangerous streets of New York City and attempted to place them into homes across America that would benefit their futures. While this charity-run program was well-intentioned, the estimated two hundred fifty thousand children of the orphan trains experienced a mix of encounters upon their placements. Although many homes provided a caring environment for these children, others did not.
