Evaluation Of Post Operative Pain After Obturation Using Two Different Types Of Sealer: A Randomized Clinical Trial, Mohamed Medhat Kataia, Hala Fayek

Objective: This study aims to assess the impact of bioceramic and resin based sealers on postendodontic pain after endodontic treatment performed in single visit. Methods: In this study, forty patients in need of endodontic therapy were chosen. single visit endodontic treatment was done for the patients but obturated using two different types of sealers: in Group 1: AH Plus sealer was used and in Group 2: EndoSequence BC sealer Hiflow was used. Post endodontic pain was measured for 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours postoperatively. Results: Both sealer groups’ post-endodontic pain levels did not significantly differ from one another. Conclusions: …

Objective: The purpose of this study is to compare the temporary threshold shifts (TTS) in dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants. The specific aim of this study is to compare the differences in temporary shifts caused by the different dental equipment and the proximity to the equipment. The current literature does not compare the change in hearing thresholds of dental personnel.

Methods: Dentists, dental assistants, and hygienists from Hermann Dental Associates will be given a case history form to determine inclusion status for this study. Exclusion criteria will include known hearing loss and significant noise exposure the day prior. …

Cannabis is no longer an illicit drug but rather a drug whose use has dramatically increased because its recreational use is largely legal, and its use in medicine has demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of many difficult to treat disorders including chronic pain, spasticity, and several cancer related problems to name but a few.

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a destructive process that may involve both hard and soft tissues. While rare, it has a predilection for the oral and maxillofacial region. LCH occurs across the age range, yet is often diagnosed in the pediatric population. The dentigerous cyst (DC) is the most common developmental odontogenic cyst. It typically presents in young adult patients as a solitary lesion associated with impacted third molars. Here we present a case of LCH occurring in the wall of a DC in a 12-year-old male.

Summary: Confusion over the subject of root resorption seems ubiquitous in the general dental community. Because of the several subheadings such as internal, external cervical, and apical, and because of a variety of causes for each, such as trauma, pressure, infection, inflammation, and systemic, the confusion can be understandable. It seems that this confusion arises primarily from the nomenclature describing the location and etiology of root resorption.
