Hazel McDaniel Teabeau was born in Arkansas in 1892, and she received her BA in English from the University of Kansas in 1915. Her interest in social causes and concern for civil rights are prevalent in her accomplishments. In 1937, she joined the Lincoln University English Department faculty, where she taught for twenty years. While on sabbatical from Lincoln University, Teabeau became the first black woman to enroll at the University of Missouri. She enrolled there at the age of 57 to seek a PhD in Speech and Dramatics, and in 1959 she became the first black woman to receive …

Misty Turner Young is a native of Jefferson City and a graduate of Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. In 2005, she returned to her alma mater to serve as a Communications Specialist in the Office of University Relations, which is now known as the Office of Communications and Marketing. In 2006, she was promoted to her current position of Director of Communications and Marketing. Josephine Silone Yates was very active at Lincoln University during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She was one of Lincoln University’s best known teachers during this time and was the first woman elected to a professorship with the university. Yates served Lincoln University as the Head of the Department of Natural Science from 1879- 1889 and Head of the Department of English and History from 1902- 1910. Ida Ballard Simon served as Miss Lincoln University for the 1970-71 academic year. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1971. She earned the Master’s of Education Degree from Theological Seminary in New York City. Ida Simon became the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and the Executive Director of the Lincoln University Foundation. She was known for her fundraising activities at Lincoln University.

Ouida Tolbert began her career at Lincoln University in 1950 as a Supervisory teacher of English, French, Speech, and Drama in the Laboratory High School and as an Associate Professor in the Department of Education. She retired from Lincoln as an Associate Professor of English in 1993. Tolbert was a mentor, role model, and life-long educator. Her dedication to pedagogy and passionate attitude touched many of her students’ and colleagues’ lives. She still contributes to the educating community today.

Elizabeth “Miss Liz” Morrow has been a Lincoln campus leader and inspirational force for many years. Elizabeth, a native of Saint Louis, Missouri, graduated from Lincoln in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Liz decided to stay with her Alma Mater as an Admissions Counselor and work on an MBA degree. She also found time to be a coach for the Blue Tiger Cheerleading team. Dr. Ann Marie E. McSwain is a first-generation college graduate, a proud 1989 alumni and the first alumna to serve in the role of Dean for the School of Nursing. She was born in London, England to Jamaican parents. She lived in Jamaica for ten years prior to moving to the United States as a senior in high school. In the changing academic libraries environment, area studies and special collections, marked by a high level of expertise in a specialized area, are faced with the challenge of articulating their value and becoming connected with a broad range of local users. This article shows that exhibitions can be a powerful instrument for making a convincing case for the relevance of these specialized collections to local users. It discusses a model case of strategic exhibition development for the Gordon W. There are not that many articles published about collaborations and cultural heritage collections, although I suspect many unreported activities are being done in the field. Book piracy has been an issue trending in the Nigerian publishing space recently. This is because of the ripple effects of the action on both publishers and authors alike. This action has over the years been a bottle neck for publishers and authors in achieving their aim of reaching out to the public and making sales from their respective publications.
