The control of each degree of freedom in the motion platform is realized through the design of the embedded control system. The displacement of each electric cylinder is obtained by inverse solution algorithm, and the somatosensory simulation of acceleration and angular displacement is realized by the wash-out algorithm. It has …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Stick-slip vibration is an important limiting factor affecting drilling speed, safety and cost. The establishment of a reliable stick-slip vibration classification model is very important for oil drilling decision-making. A new method based on Bayesian optimization and eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) is proposed to evaluate the severity of stick-slip vibration near the bit. The classification processing of the near-bit stick-slip vibration data is carried out. The main feature vectors of the original data is extracted through time domain and frequency domain analysis. A stick-slip vibration level identification and prediction model based on XGBoost is established, and Bayesian algorithm is …

Abstract: To optimize the vaccination network, inventory strategy and human resource allocation in Nanshan District, Supply Chain Guru's (SCG) network optimization method is used to select 50 alternative stations to decrease the fixed operating cost. SCG's inventory optimization method is used to set inventory strategy for each station, and simulation method is designed to compare total cost of all schemes. To optimize the opening days of vaccination stations, an medical personnel allocation rule is designed, which reduces some stations' opening days to 2 or 3 days and increases some stations' medical personnel. An simulation method is designed to compare the …

We consider a multistage stochastic discrete program in which constraints on any stage might involve expectations that cannot be computed easily and are approximated by simulation. We study a sample average approximation (SAA) approach that uses nested sampling, in which at each stage, a number of scenarios are examined and a number of simulation replications are performed for each scenario to estimate the next-stage constraints. This approach provides an approximate solution to the multistage problem. To establish the consistency of the SAA approach, we first consider a two-stage problem and show that in the second-stage problem, given a scenario, the …

In open-domain dialogue systems, knowledge information such as unstructured persona profiles, text descriptions and structured knowledge graph can help incorporate abundant background facts for delivering more engaging and informative responses. Existing studies attempted to model a general posterior distribution over candidate knowledge by considering the entire response utterance as a whole at the beginning of decoding process for knowledge selection. However, a single smooth distribution could fail to model the variability of knowledge selection patterns over different decoding steps, and make the knowledge expression less consistent. To remedy this issue, we propose an adaptive posterior knowledge selection framework, which sequentially …

Acoustic/Gravity Wave Phenomena In Wide-Field Imaging: From Data Analysis To A Modeling Framework For Observability In The Mlt Region And Beyond, Jaime Aguilar Guerrero
Doctoral Dissertations and Master's Theses
Acoustic waves, gravity waves, and larger-scale tidal and planetary waves are significant drivers of the atmosphere’s dynamics and of the local and global circulation that have direct and indirect impacts on our weather and climate. Their measurements and characterization are fundamental challenges in Aeronomy that require a wide range of instrumentation with distinct operational principles. Most measurements share the common features of integrating optical emissions or effects on radio waves through deep layers of the atmosphere. The geometry of these integrations create line-of-sight effects that must be understood, described, and accounted for to properly present the measured data in traditional …

In Chinese, Chengyu are fixed phrases consisting of four characters. As a type of idioms, their meanings usually cannot be derived from their component characters. In this paper, we study the task of recommending a Chengyu given a textual context. Observing some of the limitations with existing work, we propose a two-stage model, where during the first stage we re-train a Chinese BERT model by masking out Chengyu from a large Chinese corpus with a wide coverage of Chengyu. During the second stage, we fine-tune the retrained, Chengyu-oriented BERT on a specific Chengyu recommendation dataset. We evaluate this method on …

An Economic Analysis Of Rebates Conditional On Positive Reviews, Jianqing Chen, Zhiling Guo, Jian Huang
Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems
Strategic sellers on some online selling platforms have recently been using a conditional-rebate strategy to manipulate product reviews under which only purchasing consumers who post positive reviews online are eligible to redeem the rebate. A key concern for the conditional rebate is that it can easily induce fake reviews, which might be harmful to consumers and society. We develop a microbehavioral model capturing consumers’ review-sharing benefit, review-posting cost, and moral cost of lying to examine the seller’s optimal pricing and rebate decisions. We derive three equilibria: the no-rebate, organic-review equilibrium; the low-rebate, boosted-authentic-review equilibrium; and the high-rebate, partially-fake-review equilibrium. We …

We investigate predictors of anti-Asian hate among Twitter users throughout COVID-19. With the rise of xenophobia and polarization that has accompanied widespread social media usage in many nations, online hate has become a major social issue, attracting many researchers. Here, we apply natural language processing techniques to characterize social media users who began to post anti-Asian hate messages during COVID-19. We compare two user groups—those who posted anti-Asian slurs and those who did not—with respect to a rich set of features measured with data prior to COVID-19 and show that it is possible to predict who later publicly posted anti-Asian …

Abstract: To solve the quadrotor UAV formation control problem, an event-triggered fixed time formation control algorithm of multi quadrotor UAV system is studied. For the attitude loop control problem of UAV, the switching fixed time sliding surface is selected to make the system reach the equilibrium point in a fixed time when the system state is on the sliding surface. A fixed-time sliding mode controller is designed so that the system state which is not on the sliding surface can reach the sliding surface within a fixed time. In view of the position loop control problem of UAV, the event-driven …
