Purpose: Management of peri-implantitis is becoming an increasing component of dental practice. Dental implants can develop peri-implantitis lesions which occur in a non‐linear and accelerating pattern compared to a gradual periodontitis lesion. It is crucial to diagnose and treat this disease early, or ideally prevent it. Contemporary implants have a rough surface texture which is difficult to properly decontaminate as a crucial component for treatment prognosis. Evidence on the long-term effects of Periodontal implant maintenance therapy (PIMT) on implants is limited. The objectives of this study were to investigate the effect of different implant coronal wall thicknesses with similar abutment connection on the percentage of removal torque loss and tensile removal force after eccentric cyclic loading, and to compare the percentage of removal torque loss before and after eccentric cyclic loading in each implant group. จากการศึกษาที่ผ่านมาพบว่า ผู้ที่ใส่ฟันเทียมถอดได้มีพฤติกรรมสุขอนามัยฟันเทียมที่ไม่เหมาะสมและมีค่าความสะอาดฟันเทียมไม่ดีซึ่งส่งผลต่อสุขอนามัยช่องปากและการใช้งานของฟันเทียม การศึกษานี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมสุขอนามัยฟันเทียมของผู้ป่วยและผลของการให้สุขอนามัยฟันเทียมด้วยวิธีที่แตกต่างกันต่อค่าความสะอาดของฟันเทียมทั้งปากถอดได้ โดยทำการสัมภาษณ์ข้อมูลทั่วไปและพฤติกรรมสุขอนามัยฟันเทียมผู้ป่วยทั้งหมด 53 คนที่เข้ามารับการรักษาโดยการทำฟันเทียมทั้งปากถอดได้ที่คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย หลังจากนั้นผู้ป่วยจะถูกสุ่มแบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่มตามวิธีการได้รับสุขอนามัยฟันเทียมดังนี้ กลุ่มที่ได้รับสุขอนามัยฟันเทียมโดยวิธีบอกปากเปล่าและกลุ่มที่ได้รับสุขอนามัยฟันเทียมโดยวิธีสาธิต ตรวจค่าความสะอาดฟันเทียม (ทั้งหมดจำนวน 64 ชิ้น) 2 ครั้งในขั้นตอนการติดตามและแก้ไขและขั้นตอนการตรวจตามระยะ 6 เดือน โดยย้อมสีฟันเทียมด้านเนื่อเยื่อด้วย 6% อีรีโทรซินเพื่อให้เห็นคราบจุลลินทรีย์ชัดเจนและประเมินความสะอาดฟันเทียมโดยใช้เกณฑ์ของ Schubert and Schubert ใช้สถิติทดสอบทีอิสระในการเปรียบเทียบวิธีการให้สุขอนามัยฟันเทียมที่แตกต่างกันกับค่าความสะอาดฟันเทียมที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไป ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ผู้ป่วยส่วนใหญ่แปรงฟันเทียมด้วยแปรงสีฟันและยาสีฟัน มีเพียงบางส่วนใช้เม็ดฟู่ทำความสะอาดฟันเทียม ส่วนใหญ่ไม่ได้ใส่ฟันเทียมนอนและไม่ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการมาตรวจสภาพฟันเทียมเป็นประจำ วิธีการให้สุขอนามัยโดยวิธีสาธิตมีค่าความสะอาดฟันเทียมที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปน้อยกว่ากลุ่มบอกปากเปล่าแต่ไม่พบนัยสำคัญทางสถิติและพบว่าบางตำแหน่งของฟันเทียมมีการติดสีมากกว่าที่อื่น จากผลการศึกษา ผู้ป่วยยังมีความเข้าใจผิดในเรื่องสุขอนามัยฟันเทียมและมักไม่ได้ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญ ดังนั้นทันตแพทย์ควรจะให้ความสำคัญในการให้สุขอนามัยฟันเทียมและเลือกวิธีให้สุขอนามัยฟันเทียมให้เหมาะสมกับผู้ป่วยเพื่อให้ผู้ป่วยเข้าใจและสามารถดูแลฟันเทียมของตัวเองได้ตลอดการใช้งาน

Objective: To observe and evaluate the difference in static and dynamic loadings between two mini-implant systems (RetenDent and MS denture® system, OSSTEM). Materials and Methods: Fifty mini-implant from two companies were included in the study. The compressive force was applied to the mini-implants at 30 degrees from its vertical axis. Ten specimens from each group were subjected to static load tests. Subsequently, five cyclic loadings were calculated from static compressive strength. A titanium implant fixture was embedded in epoxy resin. Crown specimens were divided into three groups: Zirconia (Z), Lithium disilicate (E), and Polymethyl methacrylate (P). The fungus Candida albicans is an opportunistic pathogen that can exploit imbalances in microbiome composition to invade its human host, causing pathologies ranging from vaginal candidiasis to fungal sepsis. Bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus are colonizers of human mucosa and can produce compounds with bioactivity against C. albicans. Here, we show that some Lactobacillus species produce a small molecule under laboratory conditions that blocks the C. albicans yeast-to-filament transition, an important virulence trait. It remains unexplored whether the compound is produced in the context of the human host. Recruitment of polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMNs) into the vaginal lumen is the hallmark of an acute immunopathologic inflammatory response during vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) caused by Candida albicans. Recurrent VVC (RVVC) remains a chronic health burden in affected women worldwide despite the use of antifungal therapy. Based on the role leukotrienes (LTs) play in promoting inflammation, leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRAs) targeted for LTB4 (etalocib) or LTC4, LTD4, and LTE4 (zafirlukast or montelukast) have been shown to reduce inflammation of epithelial tissues. Background: The biochemical bone turnover markers for residual ridge resorption (RRR) are unclear. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the biochemical bone turnover markers associated with RRR by comparing proteomics between the compressed mucosa of denture wearers and the non-compressed mucosa of non-denture wearers.

Methods: The mucosal specimens of 11 complete-denture wearers were obtained from the alveolar ridge during surgical implant exposure for implant-retained overdentures. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of implant blooming artifact on the assessment of the peri-implant buccal bone thickness, the accuracy of two CBCT devices, and the reproducibility of CBCT images obtained in different exposure timelines.

Materials and Methods: Four dental implants were placed in the mandible of a cadaver head. The distances between dental implants and the thickness of the peri-implant buccal bone were measured with a high precision caliper.
