Introduction: This study aims to compare clinical efficacy of red injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF) and hyaluronic acid (HA) as adjuncts to professional mechanical plaque removal (PMPR) in non-surgical management of stage III periodontitis.

Methods: 75 patients were split into groups: group one (G1) received HA, group two (G2) received red i-PRF, and group three (G3), received only PMPR. Periodontal evaluation was done at baseline, 4th, 8th, and 12th weeks following treatment.

It draws parallels to current issues in the dental field, such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) rules on dental coverage. The CMS rules link dental services to medical outcomes, opening the door for future expansion. However, the editorial highlights gaps in coverage, particularly for cancer patients and those with diabetes. The new CMS rule signifies progress in integrating oral health into healthcare, echoing a goal set in 1939.

Purpose: Coronally advanced split-or full-thickness (CAST or CAFT) flaps in combination with subepithelial connective tissue grafts (SCTGs) are commonly used in root-coverage procedures despite postoperative pain and bleeding from the graft donor site. Therefore, the modified vestibular incision subperiosteal tunnel access procedure (VISTAX) uses a novel collagen matrix (VCMX) instead of autogenous tissue to address the limitations associated with autogenous tissue grafting. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study of the 2013–2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (n = 4555).
